Tool Room Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Operate the toolroom window during morning hours to ensure that all field operations are stocked with the necessary tools/materials needed to perform all work
  • Manage the Gigatrack System (Automated Asset Management System) to ensure accurate records of all toolroom assets during the check-in and check-out process
  • Perform/Maintain/Track all Dept 1, 6 & 7 tool truck stock to ensure that we maintain accurate records and accountability to ensure that each truck has all necessary tools and no excess tools
  • Ensure all additional SF tools are req’d out through the Gigatrack system for jobsite traceability
  • Perform Quarterly truck tool inspections to ensure all tools that are checked out of Keep Stock are present on the truck
  • Perform immediate tool audits upon termination of employees reporting all missing tools
  • Perform/Maintain/Track all Dept 3 & 4 Jobsite Tool Tracking through entering all jobsite tools into the Gigatrack system to allow traceability and accountability
  • Enter all initial Job Box stock into the Gigatrack system at the beginning of each MF job
  • Ensure all additional MF tools are req’d out through the Tool Room for jobsite traceability
  • Perform Quarterly jobsite tool inspections to ensure all tools that are checked out of Gigatrack still remain on the jobsite
  • Check in all Job Boxes and tools are the end of the job to ensure cost reconciliation
  • Communicate necessary toolroom restock orders to Purchasing Team
  • Communicate/Review all weekly reporting to ensure there are not employees abusing any toolroom guidelines and we have visibility into where tools are located at all times
  • Perform and track all warranty tools for all departments with the appropriate manufacturers
  • Perform all minor tool repairs
  • Perform all building maintenance requests as assigned.
  • Maintain parking lots and dumpsters insuring they are clear of debris, including weekly use of the nail/screw magnet.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of the toolroom to allow for accurate inventory on a monthly basis.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licenses: Must carry a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a DOT physical
  • Certification: None Required



  • No prior experience necessary
  • Warehouse and forklift experience a plus

  • Attendance: Consistent attendance and arriving at required start times
  • Willingness to work at least 2 Saturday mornings per month
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as job sheets, pull sheets, inventory reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively to customers and team members.
  • Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to withstand high stress levels and effectively resolve conflict.
  • Computer Operations: Intermediate to advanced computer skills necessary with ability to perform standardized applications on mobile device or PC.
  • Planning and Organization: Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize these tasks accordingly.  Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing conditions through evaluation of plan and reorganization or priorities.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

  • Working Conditions: Will be exposed to changing weather conditions, for instance: rain, snow, wind, cold and heat.
  • Work Environment: Must be comfortable working in the following environments: outdoor weather conditions, very loud, wet or humid conditions, working near moving mechanical parts, possible inhalation of fumes or airborne particles, working in high precarious places extensive vibrations and possible risk of electric shock.

  • Work Schedule: Standard start time 6:00AM unless otherwise directed.  End time varies depending on direction of the Sr. Warehouse Supervisor.  Standard work week; Monday through Friday.
