Senior Virtualization Delivery Engineer

Job Description

  • Works on a team responsible for the design, delivery & upkeep of the storage, compute and virtual infrastructure
  • Lead architecture, implementation and support of all physical and virtual servers/systems
  • Lead architecture, implementation and support of storage and backup systems and services
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to provide architectural and technical guidance
  • Design high level VDI solutions and detailed VDI solutions
  • Provide root cause analysis of service problems and develop resolutions related to VDI Perform management and maintenance of VMWare server software (vCenter, Horizon View, etc).
  • Use monitoring tools & scripts to identify performance bottlenecks and implement fixes accordingly
  • Maintain management and maintenance of server and desktop image, to include patching and monitoring. Support the configuration and operation of attached peripherals to the virtual desktop client.
  • Streamline the server/VDI build, firmware patch and storage provisioning process
  • Mentor and train staff on supported systems (i.e. storage, servers and virtualization)
  • Perform and assist with any other functions as required by the Manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Baccalaureate Degree from and accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Business Administration, Telecommunications, or a related field of study; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience architecting and building high availability, high performance storage systems (i.e. Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure);
  • Experience with VMWare Workspace ONE and Workspace ONE Endpoint Management (Airwatch)
  • Demonstrated deep expertise in technical and security process design
  • Thorough understanding of Active Directory; including replication, GPO and DNS
  • Experience with large-scale virtualization environments using technologies such as VMware vCenter, vSAN, vROps, vRealize Orchestrator, vLog Insight and PowerCli.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience architecting and building Microsoft Windows servers (2012, 2016, 2019) and services
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience architecting and building high availability, high performance VMware server systems (i.e. ESXi, vCenter, SRM, VSC) Experience with Exchange Online, Office365, Azure AD and various cloud technologies
  • One or more related certifications such as VMware VCDX, VMware VCAP, VMware VCP, VMware VCIX, EMC EMCISA, EMCSA, Pure Storage Certified Architect Professional, HPE ATP – Storage Solutions V2, Cisco DCUCS, Cisco DCUCI, Cisco CCNP Data Center
