Service Delivery Enterprise Architect

As a Service Delivery Enterprise Architect you will be primarily focused on ensuring a smooth transition from pre-sales design and proposal to delivery assurance across our delivery teams. You will help our clients translate changing business needs and requirements into IT capabilities and technical solutions with the minimum of risk. You will recommend and guide the client throughout transformative initiatives towards a flexible and modern IT environment that will provide new business value. The solutions are normally of a complex nature and include utilizing technical capabilities including, but not limited to, IT Strategy and Design, Software-Defined Data Centers, private and public cloud platforms, service management and IT Transformation.

This role requires experience within different disciplines such as infrastructure architecture, systems architecture, information architecture and enterprise architecture. Direct responsibility for or experience as an IT Architect will be critical, and preferably also certification, within architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or similar.

It will be critical to be able to see both the “bigger picture” as well as understand the details in a complex technical environment. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to distill and communicate a clear message in a complex context are a must. As well as a comfort level to communicate both on a management level and with specialists in a specific technical area.

This role will work across multiple levels and areas within RoundTower Technologies and to be successful, you will need to be self-directed with a strong drive to achieve results. A track record of strong team contribution and have documented leadership skills and experience from leading teams will be important.

Here, you’ll cultivate and use your in-depth knowledge of leading edge products and technology, coupled with your industry and business skills, to influence clients.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enterprise architectural ownership on significant cross-practice complex engagements;
    • Provide Enterprise Architecture SME level engagement to support the delivery teams.
    • Oversight and partnership with the pre-sales architecture teams of the technical dimensions of requirements gathering and solution design and work in conjunction with practice managers/resources with respect to the solution review process and level of effort.
    • Determining and/or understanding the technical SME requirements.

 

  • Direct delivery ownership or oversight of architecture specific scope and projects when assigned complex engagements move to post-sales status
    • Delivery responsibilities may include leading or overseeing the following
      • Technical requirement gathering and decision making workshops
      • Development and maintenance of Requirements Traceability Matrix
      • Development and refinement of architecture and solution design document

Perform Technical Design Authority (TDA) role on engagements to ensure consistency in delivery against the solution design/architecture.

  • Communicating technical and architectural vision to client management and technical stakeholders
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction
  • Collaborating with Delivery and Project Management to ensure successful project delivery

 

Education and Experience

This role requires a broad mix and depth of technology design and implementation knowledge with specific areas of functional expertise related to use of leading technologies across the entire IT landscape. This role needs to be able to lead teams and communicate confidentially and articulately to our internal and external customers.

 

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences or Computer Engineering, Associate’s and IT/MIS degree’s may be considered with commensurate experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in technical services delivery
  • At least 10 years of experience in Client communications and presentation
  • At least 10 years of experience in Technical Decision Maker level presentations
  • At least 5 years of experience in enterprise architecture design with large, complex accounts
  • Must have participated in one or more projects involving:
    • Cloud and IT Automation Tools, e.g. VMware vRealize Suite, VMware Cloud Foundation, Openstack, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Mgr., Cisco UCS Director, etc.
    • Public/Hybrid Cloud Platforms: Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, MS Azure, Rackspace, etc.
    • Converged & Hyper-Converged Server Technologies: Dell-EMC Vblock/VxRack/VxRail/ScaleIO, VMware vSAN Ready nodes, Nutanix ECP, IBM PureSystems, etc
    • Converged Network Technologies: Cisco Nexus (ACI), HP FlexFabric, IBM Flex System
    • SAN and NAS Storage: EMC Unity/VNX, EMC Symmetrix VMAX, EMC Isilon, NetApp ONTAP, HP 3PAR, HP EVA, etc
    • Network Security: VMware NSX, Cisco ASA/vASA, HP TippingPoint, Citrix NetScaler, Palo Alto Networks, Trend Micro
    • Hypervisor Technology: VMware ESXi, OpenStack KVM, Oracle VM, Citrix XenServer, Nutanix AHV, MS Hyper-V
  • Optional but desired experience with:
  • ITIL v3: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, Continual Service Improvement and the processes in each of these five lifecycle phases.
  • IT Service Management technologies: IBM Tivoli, CA, ServiceNow, BMC, etc.
  • TOGAF v9
  • Readiness to travel 50%+ annually
  • English: Native or Fluent

 

Strongly Desired Skills

Ability to provide enterprise architecture based consultative and guiding leadership on the impact of cloud services on a client’s IT and IT processes.


  • Current multi-elite architecture expert certification. Eg. Nutanix, Cisco, EMC or VMware certifications of the “Expert” level

  • Desired Technical domain competencies at expert levels

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate and Professional

  • Experience and ideally certification with structured consulting and architecture frameworks such as Zachman, TOGAF or The Gartner Methodology
