Senior Tax Associate - Real Estate

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Tax Associate to join our Real Estate Team in our Atlanta, GA office. In this role, you will work with a select team providing tax services to predominately German private equity companies who invest in US commercial, residential, and mixed-use real estate assets. To be successful in this role, you must be able to manage projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively. You must be organized, proactive, and results-oriented. This position is open immediately to qualified applicants in Atlanta.
Responsibilities:
- Review Federal and state, primarily partnership and individual non-resident income tax returns
- Manage team members and projects to ensure compliance with tax deadlines
- Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal and state tax topics
- Maintain active communication to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction
- Assist in staff development, and provide training and learning experiences
- Effectively delegate and oversee the work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, and removing obstacles
- Team with partners and senior personnel on proposals and business development opportunities
- Provide timely training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 4+ years of professional Federal and state income tax experience including experience in public accounting
- 2+ years of experience in reviewing partnership tax returns
- Income tax return review experience
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation
- CPA license or similar certification
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills in English
- Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in taxation of real estate investments and projects
- ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess experience
- Experience reviewing partnership and individual tax returns
- Performing technical research on real estate tax topics
