Robinson Pipe Cleaning Company (RPC) is a stable, privately-owned, contracting company that is part of the Carylon Corporation and has been in business, committed to protecting the environment since 1958. Our main operating facility is located in Pittsburgh, PA, and we also operate a satellite facility in Louisville, KY.
Position: Corporate Controller
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Hours: Monday-Friday
Pay: $85,000 - $115,000 annually
Benefits: Full (Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401K, ESOP)
Position Description 
The Controller is responsible for the oversight of the Company’s general ledger and accounting operations. Under direction of the President, the Controller oversees general accounting work for the $12M+ company including processing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts; supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll; and other reporting and accounting needs as requested by management.
Essential Job Functions 
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, report packages, and financial presentations for the management team.
  • Supervise and oversee a team of three - accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
  • Ensure accounts payable are paid timely
  • Ensure accounts receivables are collected promptly
  • Ensure payroll is processed without fail on a weekly basis
  • Oversee yearly audit, coordinating with external auditors
  • Maintain chart of account and handle bank reconciliations
  • Communicate with management team on findings and present results at monthly management meeting, using both Navision and Excel
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and analyze and reconcile expense and revenue accounts
  • Maintain good record keeping and internal controls
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
 
Qualifications 
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, experience with Navision software a plus
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a multi-tasked environment
  • Customer service focused
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
 
Education and Experience 
  • from a 4-year college or university preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and income tax filing
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Previous Accounting experience in a construction or trades industry highly preferred
