The ideal person will have deep industry experience in the Primary and Reinsurance markets, preferably to include time spent working within or supporting their business.  A strong presence and name in the NORTH AMERICA market will help this leader achieve these goals. They will be an experienced consultative sales leader with demonstrable success building and leading highly effective, high performance teams.  The Managing Director will be a collaborative leader who is able to build relationships throughout the RMS organization with the ability to communicate the big picture vision to their direct reports and the overall organization. The successful Managing Director will be a domain expert with capability to personally drive consultative sales while coaching their team to do the same. This is a unique moment in RMS’s history, putting the company at the forefront of analytics modeling technology in the insurance marketplace. S(he) will have a deep understanding of the development of “value based use cases”, how to close multi-layered deals and a skill for translating RMS technology into a solve for client business problems. Most importantly the Managing Director will bring a passion for RMS technology and closing high-level, transformative deals.  Prior experience working with CRO’s, CUO’s, CIO’s, and CDO’s  with an understanding of the business processes prevalent in insurance is also key to success.

The Position
In this role you will have significant capacity to drive results through your own actions and guiding your team to success. You will be responsible for the growth and development of your team and ensuring that your team is comprised of the best and brightest sales professionals. The Managing Director will be confident leading, delegating and directing teams at all levels.

Reporting to the EVP, Sales and Client Development this person will direct and coordinate the day to day activities of the UK market business, driving the go to market strategy, business plan, and developing strong relationships with resources in human resources, finance, and sales programs to ensure success. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintain P&L responsibility for the market
  • Build the go to market strategy and business plan that will drive YOY revenue increases
  • Demonstrate proven success in building complex solutions sales leading the team in closing transformational deals.
  • Provide direction and leadership to local and assigned administrative functions supporting the business
  • Forecasting and driving business to plan on a quarterly cycle.
  • Building and leading a high performing team of sales and functional leaders.
  • Drive transformational, enterprise level solution sales using an expert knowledge of RMS technology and capabilities.
  • C-level relationship management and leadership, building relationships with senior influencers


  • Must have deep domain expertise within the insurance and software industries
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills in a sales environment either at a software firm or consultancy
  • Understanding of catastrophe modeling and analytics as a discipline
  • Demonstrable success managing and growing a business
  • Financial skills associated with sales management such as pipeline management, forecasting, P&L
  • Ability to hire and mentor senior sales executives
  • C level trusted advisory relationship and selling skills
  • Experience building “need” and creative “use cases” for customers

The Managing Director will serve as the commercial leader for the North Americas sector of the RMS business.  The Managing Director will be a key driver in the transformation of RMS’ NORTH AMERICA market business. S(he) will have the capability to lead a team of high performing Client Directors and Client Executives to successfully build the business through expanding RMS’ customer base with new clients and to deepen and expand the relationship with new offerings and solutions in the existing customers.  The Managing Director will be skilled at orchestrating complex deals, mentoring others, building C-level relationships, and leading a high performing team.
