Shipping and Receiving Quality Inspector

Position and Responsibilities Overview
- Works closely with other Quality Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure that all manufacturing and inspection activities are performed in compliance with process work documents
- Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of each order
- Required to manage digital file updating, organization, and maintenance
- Inspects purchased parts & materials for conformance to specifications. Examines items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to parts manuals, company standards, as well as drawings, submittals, and specifications
- Occasionally helps the receiving team to unload and move material
- Identifies non-conforming or inadequate documentation, material, and/or processes
- Generates Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s) for anything not meeting RKMC standards and/or requirements
- Distributes NCR reports to vendors and facilitates communication for follow up and corrective and preventive actions
- Oversee and maintain quarantined material that has been red tagged and removed from the production floor
- Required to update and maintain multiple quality reports as necessary throughout the day
- Helps to monitor and maintain calibrated tools and the associated process
- Occasionally assists with root cause analysis investigations and process gap identification and improvements
- Assists the company and team with audits and audit preparation as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- General knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001
- 2-5 years of prior Quality Inspector experience in Structural Steel
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Intermediate computer skills and use of Microsoft Office 365
- Experience with and ability to utilize ERP support systems
- Communication Skills
- Intermediate Computer Skills
- Professional Writing Skills
- Document management skills
- Preferred to have general PIV knowledge and experience
