Job Summary:
This position provides primary support for all general ledger functions but may also need to interface with employees, on occasion, to resolve timesheet issues or with vendors to resolve accounts payable issues. Responsibilities include managing assets such as property, plant, & equipment, prepaid expenses, and performing various account reconciliations.
 
The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of accounting experience and will have worked for a government services provider and be proficient in Deltek Costpoint 8.2.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain general journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage A/R functions, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Ability to support A/P processes, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, and with ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Perform account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a government services provider.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with general ledger, receivables and payables management and payroll.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint 8.2
  • CPA or progress towards CPA certification.
  • Experience in the government contracting sector.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced work environment and deliver to tight deadlines with high level of accuracy 
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and think outside the box
  • A passion to innovate
Salary Range: $75-$125k DOE
