The Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS) is a system designed for the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (Board) for the purpose of electronically filing documents in connection with the Inter Partes Disputes established under the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (AIA).

Position Description
Our P-TACTS team is actively seeking a Senior Test Engineer. This vital role requires comprehensive expertise in developing comprehensive test plans and strategies tailored to the DevSecOps pipeline while collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria. This individual will design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools compatible with AWS and DevSecOps practices as well as integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing and immediate feedback. Additional components of this role will include security testing, performance testing, environmental management, compliance and documentation, monitoring and logging, and continuous improvement.

Additional components of this role will include security testing, performance testing, environmental management, compliance and documentation, monitoring and logging, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies tailored to the environment
-Integrate automated tests to ensure continuous testing and immediate feedback
-Implement and conduct security testing practices, including static and dynamic analysis, vulnerability scanning, and testing while ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations
-Conduct performance. load, and stress testing to ensure the system meets performance requirements
-Use tools and services to monitor and analyze performance metrics
-Setup and manage test environments, ensuring they mirror production environments closely
-Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of testing practices
-Provide clear and concise test reports, including defect tracking and resolution updates
-Analyze test results and metrics to identify areas for improvement in the testing process and overall software quality
-Integrate automated tests to ensure continuous testing and immediate feedback
-Implement and conduct security testing practices, including static and dynamic analysis, vulnerability scanning, and testing while ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations

-Setup and manage test environments, ensuring they mirror production environments closely
-Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of testing practices
-Provide clear and concise test reports, including defect tracking and resolution updates
-Analyze test results and metrics to identify areas for improvement in the testing process and overall software quality
-Extend current API testing frameworks and scripts as well as engage in manual testing of customer websites
-Create and maintain proper documentation for all work using tools such as Rally and Gitlab
-Attend spring planning meetings, ensuring all tickets have enough requirements documented for accurate QA to determine if the overall sprint load is acceptable.
Requirements- Experience and demonstrated success in creating code-based automation tools from scratch and maintaining over time across new product feature sets.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC
- Experience implementing BDD using Cumber and Gherkin
- Experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer in an Agile environment.
- Experience with Java scripting and building automation frameworks.
- Proven understanding of Java application development and testing.
- Expertise with QA automation tools and methodologies.
- Bug tracking and documentation experience using Jira and Confluence.
- Extensive experience with web-based technologies including front end (UI) and back end (web servers and databases).
- Experience with testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium/WebDriver (UI automation) and Postman (REST API testing).
- Extensive experience having worked on large-scale sites.
- Experience with performance and load testing
- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines with GitLab
- Experience in using AWS services for testing and monitoring
Salary Ranges: $100,000 - 175,000
