Program Overview

RIVA Solutions is supporting the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the ISCOM Division to deliver mission-critical IT modernization and cybersecurity services. This effort focuses on enhancing the security, reliability, and efficiency of NTIA’s infrastructure, driving forward their mission of advancing broadband access, data-driven policymaking, and secure communications through modern digital tools and compliance with federal standards.

Position Overview

RIVA Solutions is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to support enterprise IT operations under the NTIA ISCOM contract. The Windows / Azure Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing Windows-based systems and services, both on premises and within Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

This individual will also play a key role in advancing automation, cloud integration, and deployment efficiency by applying DevOps principles—including CI/CD pipelines, scripting, infrastructure as code (IaC), and containerization. The ideal candidate will be a technically skilled systems administrator who can both manage operational environments and contribute to the modernization of system deployment and maintenance processes through DevOps tooling and automation.

Core Responsibilities

Systems Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and related services.
  • Administer and support Azure environments, including Azure AD, virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity management.
  • Manage system performance, patching, and backups in accordance with federal security and compliance standards.
  • Support Microsoft 365 environments and related enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues across on-prem and cloud environments, coordinating with technical and cybersecurity teams to maintain operational stability.
  • Maintain documentation, system configurations, and operational runbooks.

DevOps Integration

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Leverage scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible) to streamline system administration and reduce manual tasks.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform, or Bicep to provision and maintain environments consistently.
  • Utilize containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)) to deploy, orchestrate, and manage cloud-native applications.
  • Apply knowledge of Azure DevOps, Azure Resource Manager, and other Azure cloud-native tools to support build automation, configuration management, and application deployment.
  • Collaborate with developers and other engineers to align infrastructure automation practices with deployment strategies and application lifecycle management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems administration or DevOps engineering.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure Administration.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Understanding of containerization concepts and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and infrastructure issues efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400).
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or Terraform for IaC.
  • Exposure to DevOps methodologies, Git-based source control, and automated testing integration.
  • Familiarity with networking, security best practices, and hybrid environment management.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Salary

Up to $135,000 depending on experience.
