As our Maintenance Technician at our arena, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and cleanliness of all facilities and equipment within the arena. You will be crucial in maintaining a welcoming and secure environment for guests, staff, players, and performers. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues promptly to minimize disruptions to events and operations.

 

DAY-TO-DAY: 

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on arena equipment such as, seating, lifts, vehicles, and ice-making equipment.
  • Address and resolve any structural issues, including walls, floors, ceilings, and doors, ensuring they meet safety and aesthetic standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards, including fire codes, ADA requirements, and occupational safety guidelines.
  • Provide support during events, including setup, breakdown, and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, and coordinate procurement as needed.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs, to track maintenance history and ensure accountability.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including facilities management, event operations, and security, to coordinate maintenance activities and support overall arena operations.
  • Maintains a consistent awareness of safety and accident prevention; advises management of unusual/unsafe conditions on properties.
  • Review and respond timely to e-mail, and work order requests, filling out logbooks; advise Maintenance Manager of all work orders and/or projects currently being worked on, the scheduling of projects, and materials needed for such projects.

 

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • A valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to effectively identify and address maintenance issues, particularly during high-pressure situations such as events or emergencies.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to building maintenance and operations, with a dedication to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • General mechanical and carpentry skills.
  • General welding skills are a plus.
  • The ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions, including plans, sketches, and blueprints.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with colleagues, contractors, and vendors, as well as the ability to clearly convey information and follow instructions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event schedules and maintenance needs.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in operating modern office equipment, including computers and relevant software.
  • Proficiency in operating a motor vehicle.
  • Proficiency in operating equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, electric carts, and radio devices.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical individuals.

  • Advanced welding skills.
  • Formal training or certifications in building maintenance or related fields.
  • Experience working in event venues or similar environments.
