Assistant Athletic Trainer, G League
Description
Become a part of the team behind the team.
As employees of the Rip City Remix, we do more than basketball. We are blazing trails toward winning championships on and off the court.
We are pioneers and innovators. We look for people who push boundaries, who dream, who are committed to inclusivity – who want to contribute to Rip City!
As our Assistant Athletic Trainer, you’ll play an important role in supporting the health, rehabilitation and performance of Rip City Remix players. You’ll partner closely with athletic trainers, physicians, physical therapists, strength and conditioning professionals, sports science personnel, and other members of the Health & Performance staff to provide collaborative, athlete-centered care.
This is an opportunity to contribute within an integrated Health & Performance environment where medical care, rehabilitation, and performance come together to help players stay healthy, return to competition, and perform at their best. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise, collaborate across disciplines, and continue developing your skills in professional basketball.
We’re looking for an athletic trainer who combines strong clinical skills with curiosity, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping athletes perform at their best. Our ideal candidate brings sound professional judgment and an athlete-centered approach to care, along with the ability to communicate effectively and build trust with players and colleagues.
You’re organized, meticulous, and comfortable balancing the day-to-day needs of professional athletes with the importance of thoughtful, evidence-informed care. Most importantly, you’re excited about professional basketball and eager to contribute, learn, and grow within an NBA-level Health & Performance environment.
DAY-TO-DAY:
- Support the evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing management of player injuries and medical conditions, helping players stay healthy, available and performing at their best.
- Provide daily athletic training services, including player preparation, treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, and injury-risk reduction.
- Help develop, implement, and progress individualized rehabilitation and return-to-performance programs, incorporating strength, conditioning, movement, and performance principles.
- Work alongside the Health & Performance team to monitor and discuss player health, readiness, availability, rehabilitation progress, and return-to-play planning.
- Provide athletic training coverage for practices, games, workouts, and other basketball activities.
- Collect and apply relevant athlete health, workload, recovery, and performance information to deliver coordinated, athlete-centered care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation consistent with organizational, league, regulatory, and professional standards.
- Support emergency preparedness and implementation of established Emergency Action Plans.
- Assist with maintenance of treatment and rehabilitation areas, medical supplies, equipment, and overall operational readiness.
- Build strong, professional relationships with Health & Performance staff, coaches, basketball operations personnel, players, and other appropriate team members.
- Participate in team travel and organizational activities as assigned and required by the position.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
