Are you ready to take a leading role in the exciting world of event finance? Rip City Management is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Event Accountant to manage our event settlements process and drive financial excellence across our organization.

As a key member of our Accounting and Finance team, you'll lead all aspects of our event financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strategic insight. Working closely with our Events team and promoters, you'll coordinate the financials for all events, manage the event monthly close process, and develop new procedures to enhance our performance.


Reporting to the Director of Finance, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our financial processes and contribute to the success of Rip City Management

DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead the event settlement process, optimizing financial procedures for concerts and events with precision and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with our Booking, Event Operations, and Box Office teams to create a seamless event settlement experience.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to accounting processes, focusing on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage month-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and event-specific journal entries and settlements with Promoters post-event.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of revenue and costs to the appropriate event code; compile profit and loss for each event and other reporting as needed.
  • Conduct thorough contract reviews, ensuring all financial aspects are properly addressed.
  • Oversee general ledger ticket account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Handle complex revenue recognition issues related to ticketing, parking, and event fees.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Contribute to event-based forecasts and budgets, providing financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.


 

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Bring proven accounting experience, including general ledger account reconciliation and accounts receivable.
  • Have exceptional attention to detail.  
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are committed to delivering a high level of customer service to both internal and external partners.  
  • Exhibit strong collaboration skills and abilities.  
  • Have a solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. 
  • Excel at analyzing complex financial data and translating it into actionable insights. 
  • Possess advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software systems. 
  • Have experience in operational improvement and implementing financial controls. 
  • Can identify and call out unusual operational or financial events and/or deviations from policies or procedures. 
  • Are willing to work late nights when required. 

 

WE’D BE THRILLED IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience with event settlements or entertainment industry financials.
  • Experience with NetSuite accounting software.
