The Manila Director of IT is a veteran professional who will lead a diverse team of IT analysts, systems engineers, systems administrators, service desk agents, deskside support specialists, developers, procurement specialists, and project managers.  The primary mission of the Manila Director of IT is to carry out the RingCentral CIO’s Global IT mission and be the head of IT for the Manila office. Managers heading each IT functional area within Manila IT will have dual reporting into the Manila Director of IT and to their global functional leader. The Manila Director of IT will serve as an extension of the global leadership team and be the Manila local eyes and ears of the Global CIO senior staff.  The role is matrixed and requires someone with senior experience and leadership to understand how to lead cross-functionally and balance many matrixed relationships.

The Manila Director of IT will establish standards of operational excellence, oversee local hiring, employee performance, HR matters, Manila IT budget, and partner with other Manila leaders to ensure the Manila office IT needs are served appropriately. He/She will coach local functional IT staff to effectively contribute to global IT initiatives and how to think global while acting local.  The remote, often US based, function leaders will drive the majority of the workload of the Manila IT staff; however, the Manila Director of IT will help enable successful delivery by removing local obstacles and escalate issues to global IT leadership when issues cannot be resolved within normal operating parameters.

This leader will maintain roadmap transparency, execute IT portfolio planning, budget adherence, contribute to management excellence, promote security best practices and maintain regulatory compliance.  This position reports to the global VP of IT Infrastructure & Operations.

  • Presents solutions and drives awareness campaigns within RingCentral
  • Builds and maintains a roadmap of projects and programs
  • Delivers weekly team project status and operational metrics
  • Tracks project outcomes and uses data as the primary source of decision-making
  • Manages project risks, scope changes and cost throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supports execution team by removing blockers and satisfying interdependencies
  • Creates detailed specifications for business applications & systems
  • Establishes strong partnerships with technology service providers
  • Drives standardization and security while balancing productivity objectives
  • Evangelizes RC technology solutions and automation
  • Designs, evaluates, and improves business processes and solutions
  • Drives prioritization and sets realistic expectations when the team is fully booked

Qualifications & Skills


  • 8 years of people management and IT experience
  • 3 years of hands-on systems or application engineering
  • Experience leading an international team with sensitivity to cultural and legal differences
  • Deep knowledge of ITSM, ITIL, and telecommunications
  • Ability to execute timely projects while maintaining quality
  • Thorough working knowledge of business processes and systems
  • Clear and effective English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong initiative and creativity applied through technology
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to convey and relate ideas to others
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Vibrant and energetic attitude, willingness to perform and get results
  • Embraces feedback and iteration

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or professional experience equivalent

  • Must be able to travel internationally approximately 10%
