As a RingCentral Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining and supporting the x86 virtualization environment including the underlying servers and storage systems at RingCentral.

Job Description:

RingCentral is looking for a Senior Audio/Video Engineer whose primary responsibility is to define, design, plan, document and implement highly available fault-tolerant audio / video technologies and solutions.  In addition, you will be working with support teams to identify areas of recurring issues and incidents, identify root cause, and develop, implement, and document corrective actions.  This position will be responsible for maintaining AV projects and resourcing requirements in the RingCentral IT portfolio management system, track project execution, identify and mitigate project risk, and ensure metrics are published to project completion.  This position requires someone with leadership abilities, attention to detail, critical thinking with strong communications and presentation skills.  The Senior Audio / Video Engineer is expected to engineer, design, provide project management to implement, maintain and support the hardware, software, operating system, and applications residing on the RingCentral IT environment with the sole purpose of ensuring that the IT environment adds value, is cost effective, reliable, updated, and available to RingCentral businesses and employees. 


  • Engineer Audio/Video (AV) solutions by understanding business requirements, working with hardware, software, applications, network, telecom and mobility vendors and/or internal RingCentral departments on AV solutions.

  • Partner with vendors to evaluate, recommend, purchase, acquire the technical competencies in the solution, and complete the creation of the solution.

  • Design, build, implement and maintain AV solutions creating the standard/solution, test plan, define and publish productivity and progress metrics, define rollout phases and identifying pilot scenarios, create feedback mechanisms, training, documentation, and communications plans.

  • Provide project management of the solution including expense / budget, defining the project, resource requirements, creating a project plan, develop project description, major milestones, timelines, and maintenance of project documentation.

  • Provide improvement, engineering, development, maintenance and deep support of AV services and AV related processes and procedures.

  • Provide service and/or technology leadership owning and presenting to management the direction and roadmap of the AV services / technologies for RingCentral.

  • Provide documentation, training and deep level support for the company’s AV solutions

  • Understand and recommend solutions such as replacement/upgrade of existing hardware, software, applications, self-help guides, process improvements, knowledge base, etc. to eliminate incidents and service requests.

  • Identify, design, and implement a knowledge management solution

  • Document knowledge and corrective action in the knowledge management solution

  • Follow standard ITSM/ITIL processes and procedures

  • Provide deep support for escalated AV issues as well as complex move, add, change and delete requests coming through the ticketing system.

  • Provide prompt and reliable AV technical support for the VIP and Executives in the company.

  • Actively participate and be available for IT related escalations as required.

  • Participate in repair/maintenance/support of IT hardware, software and applications

  • Ensure AV standards and solutions are in place and updated.

  • Manage Vendors and work closely with facilities to ensure a smooth buildout of AV solutions

  • Assist users in the operations of AV hardware, software, applications and services

  • Ensuring timely follow up and status updates until issue is resolved

  • Provide communications on all escalated issues to management and other support teams. Document progress of escalated incidents.


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, CS, MIS, Business, or related field

  • Minimum of 3+ years of designing, recommending, engineering, implementing, and supporting AV technologies

  • Strong understanding and experience with a wide range of AV technologies which include but is not limited to AV control systems, mixers, AV switcher, microphone, cameras, presentation clickers, and other technologies/solutions related to this role.

  • Strong project, portfolio and resource management skills

  • Ability to resolve issues quickly and develop / pivot to backup solutions for events

  • May be required to be on call 24x7 to provide support for AV related events and activities.

  • Must be able to lift over 50lbs, carry AV equipment, TV, desktops, laptops, misc. peripherals

  • Must be capable of navigating a push cart or hand truck.

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision from direct manager

  • Demonstrated analytics and problem-solving skills
