Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for data visualization and reporting.
- Connect Power BI to Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and data sources using Direct Query, Import, or custom SQL queries for real-time data updates.
- Optimize Power BI datasets for performance and scalability when connected to Azure Synapse and Databricks SQL pools.
- Create complex DAX calculations to support custom metrics and KPIs.
- Develop robust data models within Azure Synapse and Databricks to support advanced analytics and reporting needs.
- Integrate and utilize Fabric and Microsoft Copilot features in Power BI to automate report creation, generate narrative insights, and enhance decision-making processes using generative AI capabilities.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and governance across all Power BI solutions.
- Provide training and support to end-users on leveraging Power BI dashboards, Fabric, and Copilot features effectively.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure and Azure Databricks technologies.
- Work collaboratively with the client Data Engineering, project Analytics engineering, Business Analysts, and other relevant client and Rightpoint resources, including to discover and establish best practices in delivery.
- Ensure data accuracy in partnership with data experts through regular QA activities, including developing alerts when data flows fail.
What we’d love to see:
- Required 6+ years of experience.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in Power BI required. Experience in Azure and Databricks environment required, and certifications a plus.
- Proven experience in Power BI development, including dashboard creation and data modeling.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric and Copilot in Power BI for automating insights and enhancing analytics workflows.
- Strong understanding of Azure Synapse Analytics, including SQL pools, data integration, and connecting Synapse with Power BI.
- Strong understanding of Databricks, including SQL pools, data integration, and connecting Databricks with Power BI.
- Proficiency in Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating advanced calculations.
- Solid knowledge of SQL for querying and transforming data.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric configurations required for enabling Copilot features.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, and the ability to prioritize and work on several tasks simultaneously
