Description

As the Electrification Project Manager, you will:  

  • Manage major strategic projects involving electrification at Utah Transit Authority (UTA).
  • Manage all aspects of general electrification, including technology research, system design, equipment evaluation, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and collaboration with stakeholders to align projects with environmental and energy efficiency goals.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently up to and over $20 million in value, and contracts.
  • Oversee, participate in, and provide technical expertise in the creation and review of project design criteria and design activities.
  • Manage, participate in, and assist in coordinating all functions in the procurement process, factory acceptance testing, field installation and testing, and capacity improvements.
  • Manage, guide, and direct UTA and contracted personnel.
  • Oversee and manage utility coordination activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:   

  • Seven years progressively more responsible experience in design review, maintenance, testing and implementation of rail systems project management and design. Design management experience to include budgeting, scheduling, change order implementation and contract management experience.
  • Five years of electrical engineering experience related to transit systems, traction power, and overhead catenary systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in stray current mitigation and corrosion control on an active light rail system is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field. Professional Engineering (PE) License, or currently pursuing PE license.

   

Knowledge:   

  • Strong working knowledge of Traction Power Substations (TPSS), and Overhead Catenary System industry procedures and industry trends.
  • Electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems theory for TPSS, and Overhead Catenary Systems.
  • Electronic, electrical, and mechanical testing, safety and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Engineering, operation, and maintenance policies.

Skills:   

  • Competent with Word, Excel, and Power Point programs preferred
  • Highly organized and motivated; Interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented; Creative problem-solving skills.

Abilities:   

  • Document filing, storage, and retrieval methods.
  • Office automation equipment such as fax, computers, scanners, digital cameras, copiers, etc.
  • Write and communicate clearly.
  • Work closely, productively, and effectively with a team to accomplish tasks.
  • Work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Work independently or with little direction.
  • This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Rate: $99,000.000 to $123,500.00 depending on experience.
