Bus Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor (Central/Depot)

Job Summary
Directly supervises complete maintenance of assigned vehicle fleet including scheduled (i.e. preventive maintenance) and unscheduled repairs, cleaning and servicing. Schedules maintenance personnel and coordinates work activities. Plans preventative maintenance schedule and monitors tasks to ensure that vehicle fleet operates safely and reliably. Observes repair work and evaluates skill level of assigned staff. Assesses qualifications of staff and arranges for training in proper repair methods as needed. Trains and/or arranges staff updates on technological changes to equipment and repair techniques. Resolves labor relations issues in accordance with labor contracts.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Associate’s Degree in Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics field.
EXPERIENCE
Five years previous mechanic work experience with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanical/electrical/electronic repair techniques. Knowledge of advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic theory and principles is preferred. One year job-related supervisory (or lead) work experience with demonstrated progressive competence in supervising mechanics/technicians in all areas of Heavy Duty Diesel mechanical/electrical/electronic repairs.
Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of:
- Principles of leadership, supervision, training, motivation, and coaching.
- Diagnosis, maintenance, overhaul and repair of equipment and facilities.
- Preventive maintenance practices.
- Must have intermediate skill level using Excel. May be required to pass a competency test.
- Must have beginning skill level using Word. May be required to pass a competency test.
- Must be able to analyze and evaluate data.
Must be able to acquire and maintain CDL and DOT card prior to start date and no more than 2 moving violations in the past three 3 years; cannot have more than 1 violation of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs within the last 10 years.
Must be able to acquire forklift certification within probationary period. Must be able to operate a PC using JDE, Citrix operating systems and vehicle diagnostic software. Good previous job performance. (In evaluating previous job performance, the following will be considered: missouts/tardiness, non-FMLA protected unscheduled absences, and formal disciplinary actions. We check the last two years.)

Pay Rate: $87,696.96 Annually
