JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing all accounting activities for the organization, including financial reporting, legal compliance, internal controls, and day-to-day transactions for operations, federal and state grant programs, self-funded pension plan, and major capital projects. Includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, asset management, document management, and account reconciliations. Ensures all reports are prepared timely and in accordance with GAAP and GASB pronouncements. Accountable for other reporting and compliance requirements as mandated by the Federal Transit Administration.  
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRAINING:  
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management. CPA, CMA, CPFO, or CGFM designations preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and management skills. Experience with Oracle-based systems a plus.  
  
EXPERIENCE:  
Seven years recent work in accounting, including four years of governmental enterprise and grant accounting experience, four years as a supervisor, and five years as Comptroller or position primarily responsible for organization’s accounting and financial reporting. Experienced with preparing an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
