Job Summary

Provides curriculum development and instructional design guidance, and Light Rail Business Unit training process support.  Assists in the Development, design, and research of programs for training courses for Light Rail Business Unit training programs.  Assists Light Rail/Maintenance of Way Training Administrator/Designers/Specialists in implementing Unit wide standardized curriculum, instructional development and management, training analytics, and training process compliance.  Creates training content and delivery assessment for application in settings across the business unit, including for E-learning.  Implements best practice instructional design methods to foster consistent training standards and effective learning for the student.  Assists with administering the Learning Management System (LMS).  May directly prepare, organize, and conduct training courses and certifications as needed. Liaises between Training Department and Subject Matter Experts in training activities. Leads, facilitates, and participates in committee meetings to ensure group effectiveness and awareness.

This will be a part-time internship, hours are flexible and will not exceed 29 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Junior level student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, seeking an undergraduate degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Preferred coursework: In-class Course Content Creation, including Course Outline, Instructor/Student handbooks, Assessments, and E-learning.
  • Interpersonal and project management skills to include: ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including with outside agencies, consultants, subject matter experts, and employees is desired.
  • Skilled in computer use and the knowledge of a variety of associated software to include Learning Management Systems preferably in Learnerweb and Adobe ELearning Suite to include Adobe Captivate and Scorm Packager is desired.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.) at the intermediate level.
  • Must have a valid Utah driver's license.
  • Must be a safe driver with no more than four moving violations in the past three
  • Cannot have more than two violations of driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, or the combined influence of any alcohol or any drug within the last ten years.
Must submit a transcript of grades and two letters of recommendation.


Pay Rate:
$20.192 per hour
