JOB SUMMARY    
    
Provides budget support and financial analysis to improve financial viability, efficiency, and effectiveness of business units. Leads budget and financial analysis projects and conducts ad hoc analysis using complex analytical tools. Collaborates with other UTA departments to make recommendations on their budgets and other operational decisions and forecasts. Develops and maintains monthly Financial Dashboards and other effective monitoring and measurement methods to identify actionable areas for improvement.  Leads process improvement projects to analyze, recommend, and develop improvement strategies for accomplishing financial goals and overall performance improvement. Provides support to Director – Budget & Financial Strategy in supporting UTA mission-critical financial reporting and budgeting applications.    
    
Minimum Qualifications    
    
EDUCATION/TRAINING    
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in business, Accounting, or related field preferred. 
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA or similar) highly preferred.
 EXPERIENCE    
  • Two to five years budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong critical and logical reasoning skills. 
  • Able to perform technical analytical work without frequent supervision, including collecting and interpreting data using financial reporting systems and other analytical tools and models.
  • Advanced computer skills using current MS Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and   Outlook; experience with Visual Basic preferred.
  • Working knowledge of database concepts and ability to create queries.
  • Able to understand, articulate, and advocate for business recommendations and financial solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Able to work individually or as a member of a project team.
  • Able to understand and apply quality management principles.
  • This job requires regular and predictable attendance.
