Job Summary
This position is critical in supporting UTA as a member of the Information Security team. The Information Security Analyst job family is intended for employees responsible for protecting information systems throughout the agency. The person holding this role would be a fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, adheres to approved policies and standard operating procedures, and works to complete substantive assignments / projects / tasks of moderate to substantial scope and complexity on their own or by assisting other team members. They can multi-task on various information security system alerts and issues and understand how best to triage incidents based on risk factors, criticality to the business, and industry best practices.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- 4-5 years’ experience in information security analysis work or graduation (with BS) from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in information technology security, computer information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field is generally preferred.
- Hold a level II baseline certification (DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications)
- Demonstrate accomplished work experience in Information Technology, Systems, or Security with high degree of skill in cybersecurity research and analysis
All the following are preferred but not required.
- Any combination of training and education greater or equal to four hundred hours (400) hours from an accredited college or university with emphasis on an Information Systems / Technology or Computer Science field of study.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology / Systems, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity field of study
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with performing threat hunting and forensic investigations of information security related incidents.
- Experience with performing security incident response tasks with moderate supervision.
- Experience with performing root cause analysis of security alerts and system logs.
- Experience with endpoint, server, and cloud security solutions and monitoring tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent network, computer, and office automation software skills.
- Excellent system events and alerts correlation to known vulnerabilities skills
- Moderate knowledge of Security Management Frameworks (preferably NIST CSF)
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft, Android, and Apple operating systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large or complex projects with some supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to direct project tasks performed by others, including Contractors (1-2).
- Demonstrated ability to test software and or firmware vulnerabilities and provide documented results.
- Demonstrated ability to configure systems, develop baselines, and document standard operating procedures and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to create training documentation for supported systems.
- Ability to train others in the use of the security systems supported.
This job requires regular and predictable attendance, either onsite or remote as determined by manager.
Pay Rate: Starting at $70,500.00 - 84,500 based upon experience
