As the Workers' Compensation Adjuster, you will:
  • Handle claims filed by UTA employees injured on the job.
  • Investigate claims and review medical records.
  • Determine the validity of injuries and calculate benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with injured employees, healthcare providers, and attorneys to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Provide appropriate compensation to injured employees.
  • Focus primarily on medical-only cases and some complex indemnity cases.
  • Utilize strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively handle cases and minimize potential disputes or litigation in the state's workers' compensation system.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/LICENSES:
  • Three years in workers' compensation or another claims-related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare field. (In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 4 additional years of experience will be considered)
  • Associates in Claims certification and Adjuster’s license for the state of Utah are preferred, but not required.
  • Must have a valid Utah driver's license. Must be a safe driver with no more than four moving violations in the past three years. Cannot have more than one violation of driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, or the combined influence of alcohol and any drug within the last ten years.

Pay Range: $56,000.00 to 67,000.00 depending on experience
