Robert Half is searching for a Linux Systems Engineer to fill a permanent full time opportunity. The ideal candidate with have 3+ years of experience with both Systems and Networking experience working in a Cisco and LAMP environment. This candidate should also have Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of training users in applications and operating system fundamentals and writing basic documentation. Qualifications:
<b><u>Desirable Background and Skills</b></u><br><br>
<ul>
<li>A degree in computer science or a related field.
<li>Experience with VMWare ESX Server
<li>Familiarity with networked/distributed computing environment concepts; for example, can use the route command or administer routing and remote access service, add a workstation to a network, and mount remote filesystems.
<li>Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Perl, shell).
<li>Programming experience in any applicable language.
</ul>

<b><u>Must Have</b></u><br><br>
<ul>
<li>3+ years configuring, managing, and troubleshooting networking equipment (switches, firewalls, routers), storage appliances (NAS/SAN), and server hardware.
<li>Experience with Linux and FreeBSD operating systems
<li>Experience with LDAP, Samba
<li>Experience with MySQL administration
<li>Experience with VoIP services
<li>Strong Apache background
