Network Administrator
Description
Essential Duties
Self starter, who enjoys serving other team members and a broad-based user community
Able to articulate issues and recommendations in non-technical terms for business managers.
Triage, and work-to-completion IT trouble tickets that particularly deal with VPN access, network configurations, Terminal Server access, router configuration, and other network needs
Assist IT teammates with other needs for managing user access for exchange, VOIP phones, Sharepoint, and Active Directory
Assist IT teammates with Windows Server updates and patches
Work with Network and data center vendors in defining and executing work where 3rd party involvement is needed
Assist the Infrastructure Director in creating and maintaining an infrastructure roadmap
Assist SQL database administrators in their planning and troubleshooting needs
Assist business analysts in their planning and troubleshooting needs
Serve as a hands-on project manager role to execute infrastructure changes in our Charlotte data center or one of our North America locations.
On call support for emergency Site down needs
Skill Requirements
10-plus experience in related IT disciplines focused on network and server management
Fluent with IT best practices as prescribed by ITIL and Sarbanes-Oxley (SAS70).
Strong background in managing and monitoring local area and wide area networks
Solid experience with network devices including Cisco switches, Cisco Pix appliances, firewalls, Cisco routers and Adtran routers
Solid experience with Windows Server management in a multi-location context
Solid experience with supporting users in multiple locations relying on Terminal Server session for application access
Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in a collaborative environment with differently-skilled teammates
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management experience requiring vendor coordination, and contribution of other IT specialists
Network certifications are a plus
Experience with VOIP phone system rollouts are a plus
SQL database experience is a plus
Supporting users in an ERP context is a plus
