Front End Web Developer
Description
Our client is seeking a proactive and creative Front End Web Developer to support multiple internal CMS and Collaboration platforms (e.g. Vignette and SharePoint 2010).This person will work with other front-end developers and user experience teammates to develop solutions for internal web sites, rich media, enterprise technology tools, and to enhance existing platform features and usability. This person will participate in requirements gathering, documentation, and site/feature development. Responsibilities will include:
Effectively translates wireframes and design mocks into HTML prototypes and webs sites. Design html prototypes, visual interfaces, cascading style sheets, and interactions of web-based applications.
Working with the business to identify opportunities, gather requirements, document requirements and technical design specifications, and implement solutions.
Development of cascading style sheets for branding and customizing look and feel of sites.
Supporting end users in creating new sites and maintaining existing sites.
Development of new features to enhance the companys internal and external web platforms.
Contributing to the migration of resources and solutions from legacy platforms to newer platforms.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teammates and business customers during site development, management, and enhancement processes.
Suggests improvements to business processes to gain advantages from new and existing tools.
Qualifications:
3+ years experience with web development and web design.
Skilled in the following web technologies/languages: excellent HTML, CSS, and Javascript/jQuery skills a must.
AJAX, Java, JSP, C#, Visual Studio 2010, PowerShell, SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, XML, and XSL experience a plus. Experience developing sites or components that well match wireframes and mocks provided a must. Ability to create engaging design independently a plus.
Experience with Content Management Systems (particularly Vignette) preferred.
Experience with graphic design tools such as PhotoShop, Flash and Illustrator preferred.
Experience with SharePoint development and administration preferred.
Strong written and oral communication skills a must.
Ability to interact and communicate with customers of varying levels of expertise; communicating complex technical information to less-technical users.
Demonstrated customer service abilities.
Strong organization skills.
Experience with various third-party tools for web development and site management a plus.
Experience integrating web platforms with other enterprise systems a plus.
Familiarity with search configuration and metadata management a plus.
