Purpose of the Payroll Specialist 
This is a temporary 3 month contract position.
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for administration of employee payroll processing, payroll reporting, and ADP maintenance for a 350+ employee workforce with additional support to Finance and HR organizations as needed. This is an independent contractor role that will be needed for 4 months. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
Payroll Administration 
  • Manage timecards, including employee setup, supervisor approval processes, schedules and reconciliations to ensure accurate payments to hourly employees 
  • Perform data entry and importing for semi-monthly payroll processing for 400+ employee workforce 
  • Maintain payroll best practices while completing semi-monthly payroll runs 
  • Process and administer employee leave of absence and terminations in payroll system 
  • Complete employment verification requests and respond to employee payroll inquiries 
  • Assist with payroll reporting and other ad hoc information requests 
  • Complete monthly payroll reconciliations 
 
HRIS Administration 
  • Maintain complete electronic employee personnel files, records and other documentation for employees, including forms for employment status changes and maintaining timely and accurate files. 
  • Prepare statistical summaries and reports from the HRIS involving payroll information, performance management, demographic data and other employee data, requiring knowledge of the various Human Resources disciplines. Assists to maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data and reviewing source documents for accuracy and completion of data input. 
  • Generate files/reports such as the EEO1 as well as other special and ad hoc reports as requested 
  • Evaluate and implement payroll/HRIS systems upgrades and changes

Education and Experience: 
  • Significant experience processing payroll in ADP 
  • Associates degree in general business with an emphasis on accounting and/or human resources, or related work experience 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
