Quality Manager

PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES
The Quality Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations and will be responsible for activities to develop, maintain, and improve quality programs, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with established standards and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include managing internal and external audits, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) program, calibration program, product traceability, and document control. This role is also responsible for all internal and external testing activities for existing Revision Military products; as well as testing to support Revision’s RD&E projects. This position will ensure correct prioritization of the workload, testing timelines are met, and results are well documented. They are responsible for managing a team consisting of analysts and technicians.  The Quality Manager will interact with all departments and levels of the business. 
 
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as subject matter expert for the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Maintain/improve the ISO 9001 QMS through audits, corrective actions, & training.
  • Manage the Material Review Board process.
    • Ensure corrective and preventive action processes across departments of the business.
    • Lead the team members of corrective action steering committees.
  • Evaluate quality findings and coordinate process improvement strategies.
  • Act as lead assessor for both internal and external internal audits of the QMS in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001.
    • Develop and maintain internal audit schedule.
    • Maintain detailed records of all internal and external audits.
    • Train employees in auditing practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts as both a leader and team member as needed.
  • Act as primary contact for customer onsite product inspections.
  • Maintain the corrective action system for internal CAR’s, customer complaints, and supplier corrective actions.
  • Plan and organize calibration and other external testing including evaluation and documentation/reporting of the results.
    • Coordination and administration of calibration recall system.
  • Manage the document control system.
    • Maintain and improve document control system.
    • Assist document creators in the development and implementation of new procedures and work instructions.
    • Assist in creation of training materials and maintenance of training records.
    • Manage laboratory workload for on-time completion of requested testing.
    • Maintain Revision’s specialized test equipment and provide recommendations on new testing technologies.
    • Develop and execute detailed test protocols and prepare test reports.  Evaluate results of product tests and inspections for compliance.
    • Evaluate passing product for aberrations or trends that may lead to failure in the future and initiate preventive actions as needed.
    • Assist in the development of new test protocols for new products.
    • Interface with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and RD&E functions regularly to ensure testing requirements and priorities are understood. 
    • Assist Marketing and Sales to determine compliance with new standards and define customer requirements for certification.
    • Review customer requirements and determine applicable standards.
    • Identify 3rd Party Testing Labs for various certifications and ensure all certifications for specific products are obtained.
    • Provide guidance to lab customers regarding appropriate testing, assist in interpretation of testing results, and make suggestions to improve product performance as applicable.
    • Ensure the lab is organized, well maintained, and embodies a world-class facility.
    • Develop first-rate knowledge of all standards and specifications which relate to our products.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science, engineering field preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a quality management role.
  • Understanding of ISO-9000 required.
  • Experience with ISO-17025 preferred.
  • Auditor training and experience required - lead auditor training and experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team of direct reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with outside regulatory agencies.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Meticulous, detail oriented, and quality conscious.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a shifting landscape.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.
  • Ability to utilize standard measuring devices for quality inspections required.
  • Experience with ballistic and/or optical testing equipment preferred.
  • Lean / Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a can-do, customer-centric attitude is required.
  • U.S. Government authorization required.
Work environment (include physical requirements)
  • Office based and manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Minimal travel required.
