Position: QA Manager

Reports to: Director, SDET

Department: Engineering

Location: Hyderabad, India, in office 5 days/week

Job Overview

The QA Manager is a key technology member who will actively improve product quality by working as an integral part of a dynamic team of software development test engineers who are focused on writing great code and learning every day. This individual will lead the team by ensuring that our customers have software that is both useful and usable. As a QA Manager you must be willing to learn the discovery industry and quickly integrate new methods and technologies into your repertoire.

 Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Hand-on experience with leading and managing large testing teams.
  • Responsible for QA delivery, test strategy implementations, and scope estimations.
  • Provide technical leadership and leverage engineering best practices to initiate and execute cross-functional company-wide programs.
  • Be an advocate for our customers and champion their experiences to ensure consistent QA delivery across our entire product portfolio.
  • Liaise with Business and Engineering teams for end-to-end test rollouts for global clients.
  • Establish org-wide QA policies and processes and support day-to-day QA activities.
  • Participate in test code design reviews.
  • Recommend and deliver on short-, medium-, and long-term operational performance improvements.
  • Assist in implementing Key Performance Indicators to improve test quality efficiency and coverage.
  • Implement and enhance processes to report and monitor resolutions for performance and stability.
  • Create cost-effective resource forecasts and management and provide time estimations.
  • Implement testing reports and conduct Scrums.
  • Identify technical and operational risks, and establish contingency plans and reviews in STLC.
  • Advance offshore QA recruiting efforts and mentor, train, and support other team members.

Special Knowledge and Skills

  • Working experience in managing multiple products within deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong testing experience with on-prem and cloud solutions, web/mobile/desktop applications
  • Experience with various testing types such as functional, automation, end-to-end, API, and DB validations.
  • Strong knowledge of automated web UI and API testing.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, GitHub/Jenkins, Gradle, or Maven build tools, a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • An eagerness to learn new and emerging technologies.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • At least 12-15 years of relevant work experience in Computer/Information Technology, Information Systems, etc.
  • At least 10 years of Quality Assurance experience in Agile SDLC/STLC.
  • At least 6 years of experience managing testing activities – strategy, execution, CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and issue resolution.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and managing manual and automated regression suites and data repositories for scalable solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of modern object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Industry experience in various browsers, and web technologies such as HTTP, XML, JavaScript.
  • Strong experience in defect management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, MS Azure, HP ALM, etc.
  • Strong working experience designing and implementing Key Performance Indicators to improve test coverage and quality.
  • Strong experience managing and mentoring cross-functional test engineering teams located globally.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and in diverse/multiple stakeholder environments.
  • Hands-on experience in various industries or domains a plus.
  • Hand-on experience in a global delivery environment.
