Description

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing on‑site installation, servicing and repair of complex equipment and systems. Examines and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Relocation to San Luis Obispo (SLO) is preferable. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and understand their needs
  • Knowledge of and ability to install and troubleshoot software and hardware
  • Keeping track of purchased equipment
  • Working as part of a team, but also able to work individually
  • Mechanical aptitude with high attention to detail and strong organization
  • Extensive travel required
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelors of Science or technical AA desired; experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
  • Experience in electronic system troubleshooting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to have an updated passport and obtain travel visa
  • Ability to be added to corporate driving insurance
  • Relocation to San Luis Obispo (SLO) is preferable. If not able to be relocated to SLO, needs to be in SLO for first 3 – 6 months for training
