About the Role:
Reporting to the Global Service Engineering Director, the primary responsibility of the role is to provide expert technical support to our APAC Solar and Storage O&M department, who operate and maintain solar and battery storage assets. The Solar-Battery Storage Specialist /Technical Specialist will enhance delivery of our operational services by providing remote and on-site technical support (where necessary), training, and documentation.

Key Safety Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead a Safety Culture towards Zero Harm, ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
- Provide technical support for Solar and Storage O&M, including plant GPS, BESS, and power conversion technologies.
- Offer remote and on-site technical support for plant performance and other departments.
- Develop and update operational documentation (ITPs, Work Instructions, Method Statements).
- Assist in HSQE incident investigations, root cause analyses, and procedure improvements.
- Foster collaboration across regions and departments to share technical knowledge.
- Act as the nominated HVOA and Qualified Supervisor (NQS) for designated states.
- Take care for your own and others' health and safety.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong safety mindset.
- Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in IT for report writing and documentation.
- Coaching mentality, skilled in training and upskilling others.
- Developing Method Statements, ITPs, and working with OEMs on fault diagnoses.
- DC/LV installation, fault finding, testing, and commissioning.
- Solar PV O&M experience (MW-scale or large commercial).
- Experience with central inverters, SCADA, data monitoring, and HV switchgear.
- Desirable experience in battery storage installation and O&M (MW-scale).
- Experience in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent; other technical training to be assessed.
- Electrical License for the relevant state, LVR/CPR, First Aid, and Construction White Card.
- Full Australian driving license.
- Knowledge of APAC Health & Safety legislation and solar PV & BESS technologies.
- Familiarity with central inverters, High Voltage operations, and AC/DC systems in utility-scale solar and BESS.
- Understanding of SCADA, instrumentation, communication networks, HVAC, fire protection, and security systems (desirable).
- Battery storage technology knowledge (training available).
