Solar Field Engineer Intern

Summary:
RES is looking for an intern who is eager to learn about renewable energy infrastructure by assisting the Project Engineering teams on our construction sites. Interns will typically support one or more experienced engineers in their performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects and experience the daily workings of Project Engineering. There are currently project locations across the country and interns should be ready to relocate to any of our project sites for the duration of the internship.
Requirements:
- Assists in the generation, maintenance, tracking, and updating of project-specific procurement log, RFI log, POD, and engineering milestones on a weekly basis.
- Attends meetings and takes minutes and distributes to Project Engineers for review and distribution to project teams.
- Assists and maintains project documentation structures utilizing SharePoint, Procore, or client systems (RFI, drawings, submittals, transmittals)
- Reviews and checks conformance of vendor submittals and/or engineering designs (where applicable) to exhibits of the prime contract.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
- Operates company-assigned vehicle in a safe manner in all types of road and weather conditions.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and supervisors.
Safety:
- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
- Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
- Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.

- Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.

- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Qualifications:
- You must be working toward a BS or MS degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Civil preferred), or equivalent major.
- Internships are 10-weeks in length, tentatively scheduled May 27, 2026 - August 7, 2026.
- You must have a valid driver’s license.
- You must be 18 years of age by the start of the internship assignment.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States with no visa sponsorship.
- You must complete an internship at any one of our project locations in the United States. This often requires relocating out of state for the duration of the internship.
- No work experience required, although construction experience is helpful.
- Functional competencies include accountability, communication, responsibility/stewardship, teamwork, prioritization, and self-knowledge & self-learning.
Anticipated base salary range: $20/hr. - $23/hr.
Premium Daily Per Diem paid for food, lodging
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
