Summary:  

The Sr. Operational Technology Engineer role will play a key part in expanding RES portfolio of assets and services in the Americas. The Operational Technology (OT) environment is critical to how RES delivers its core business services; this role is vital to ensuring OT serving the Americas region is maintained and adapted to support business change, by ensuring:
  • OT systems and infrastructure performs and scales to support business growth.
  • Effective data acquisition, system resilience and cyber security capabilities are inherent in OT system design and operation.
  • OT standardization and simplification practices are progressively established globally.
  • OT improvement projects are effectively supported in terms of technology delivery into operations.
  • OT systems are maintained in compliance with relevant technology regulations and standards.
  • Technology and service cost optimization measures are continually assessed and practiced.
Requirements:   
  • Undertakes Incident response and resolution for RES owned or maintained central and site-based OT systems to uphold agreed service levels.
  • Supports the effective execution adoption of new generation sites into operational OT support.
  • Delivers cost effective and efficient system administration activities covering the general maintenance, repair, back-up and upgrade of RES managed site-based OT / SCADA systems.
  • Assesses third party (including original equipment manufacturer ‘OEM’) proposed SCADA system or infrastructure changes and upgrades to ensure compatibility with RES and other site level OT systems.
  • Provides OT system upgrade recommendations to Clients demonstrating the operational, security and financial benefits.
  • Supports the OT related development of the RES platform and software products such as UNO and Smart respectively.
  • Assists the development of architecture standards for OT globally and their practical application into technology design and deployments.
  • Maintains, along with team members, a knowledge management repository for OT system and infrastructure to uphold service levels on change delivery and operational support.
  • Report on OT systems operational performance in terms data acquisition and system and infrastructure reliability within the OT Team and to key America’s business.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Assists the identification and introduction of new technologies to enhance OT resilience and business growth.
  • Supports regular reporting to track operational performance in terms data acquisition and OT system and infrastructure reliability.
  • Oversees security penetration testing of OT systems and infrastructure to ensure the effective management and remediation of any resulting improvement actions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of cyber security and networking in relation to OT systems and infrastructure.
  • Extensive knowledge of good practice design, implementation and operation of OT environments at operational sites and using Azure cloud-based services.
  • Knowledge of IT governance processes covering financial management, project management, compliance and IT risk management.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of delivering and supporting large scale OT infrastructure changes.
  • Proven experience of managing and partnering with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Awareness and understanding of Cyber security principles, frameworks and standards e.g. ISO27001, NERC-CIP and NIST-CSF.
  • Proven ability to use a ‘business outcome’ approach and style to delivering technology change.
  • Proven ability to engage, build strong relationships, influence, and partner with stakeholders across functions and geographies. 
  • Ability to quickly build the confidence in senior managers and peers; demonstrates capability.
  • Demonstrates passion about technology and how it can improve business resilience.
  • Strong, proven technical delivery skills; unafraid of making decisions and happy to take accountability.
  • Demonstrates integrity, respect toward others and the RES values. Intuitive, whilst displaying gravitas and credibility.
  • Extensive experience and track record working in the design and support of enterprise and OT infrastructures and related cyber security systems.
  • Highly capable, all-round technologist, preferably in the B2B sector, with experience of change and transformation.
  • Experienced gained in the Construction, Utilities or a project-based business.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with senior managers and exceptionally customer focused.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of technical/Infrastructure architectures and standards.
  • Experience of deploying and supporting leading Cyber Security and network infrastructure technologies such as firewalls, routers, switches, vulnerability scanners and authentication services.
  • Excellent track record of bringing innovative ideas that deliver a competitive edge in terms of process and efficiency.
  • Developed and delivered OT changes that have driven business growth.
  • Functional competencies in excellence, responsibility/stewardship, customer focus, attention to detail, and collaboration.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in OT/IT or certification in OT/IT engineering, preferred.
  • Certification in architecting, deploying, and securing enterprise or OT-related cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google, preferred.
  • Vendor qualifications or equivalent in leading firewall and networking technologies including Fortinet and Cisco.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in solid foundation spanning, with a broad awareness of OT or IT, also spanning Build and Run/Service Delivery, required.
  • 3 or more years’ experience working geographically distributed teams, preferred.
  • 3 or more years’ experience managing cyber security arrangements in IT or OT environments, preferred.
  • Ability to travel 5 to 15% domestically and internationally.
Anticipated base salary range:  $119,000 - $141,000
 
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
