Summary:       
      
The Director, Supply Chain - Wind - North America develops RES’ North American relationships with the Wind Turbine Manufacturers to access the latest technology and achieve market-leading pricing. Supply Chain Management is critical to successfully delivering RES’ projects in wind. The Director, Supply Chain - Wind - North America leads the project specific procurement strategies, bid process, evaluation, and associated recommendations and, if required, the commercial and technical negotiations for purchasing the wind turbines (TSA & Schedules & Service Agreement & Schedules). This position requires collaboration across multiple internal teams and stakeholders.      
The Director, Supply Chain - Wind - North America manages our key wind turbine manufacturer relationships focused on North America, coordinating effectively with senior leaders in development, construction, and O&M to deliver the optimal global supply chain strategies, market intelligence, and supply chain relationships.      
      
Requirements:          
      
Strategy      
  • Secures and provides North American inputs into key global wind strategies to ensure success not only in North America but globally alongside the responsible, accountable business leads.
  • Identifies and communicates critical issues that need to be addressed in North America to realize and implement the strategic plan elements for wind with the rest of the Group team, procurement, engineering, technical, development, construction & O&M colleagues in North America.

Key Supplier Management & Project delivery      

  • Leads the project specific wind turbine procurement strategy, tendering, recommendations, and negotiations Wind Turbine Supply Agreements and Service Agreements and associated technical & commercial schedules in North America securing the required technical, engineering, legal and associated inputs to deliver the optimal contracts.
  • Leads as a key account manager for Wind Turbine suppliers in North America to deliver agreed objectives (cost, product visibility & quality) and acts as the ambassador of the business with the wind supply chain.
  • Ensures that we lever the value of the global strategic relationships and implementation of the defined master supply agreement, if any.
  • Supports the delivery of wind turbine innovation/route map and reflection in the Wind Turbine Supply Agreements working with North American Technical & Engineering teams and the Group Teams.
People      
  • Communicates across the North American team to drive alignment with global wind strategy, best practice sharing, and optimization of project cost of energy with particular emphasis on efficiency improvements and capex/opex reduction.
     
Process      
  • Supports delivery of a process for capturing & updating & disseminating wind supply chain market intelligence.
  • Ensures compliance with governance process for decision making on wind turbine selection and leads supply chain inputs into investment decisions.
  • Maintains responsibility for tracking the overall performance and cost data (historic and forecast data) of Turbine Suppliers in North America, and secures feedback from the wider business, and represents the North American business with key global strategic suppliers.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Acts as a role model for Health & Safety internally and with Supply Chain.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:      
  • Substantial understanding & experience of wind supply chain in North America.
  • Understanding of Green H2 would also be beneficial.
  • Proven track record of negotiating high-value capital contracts and demonstrable record of developing commercial strategies combining an understanding of technical & commercial issues and interplay.
  • Substantial experience in supply chain management.
  • Demonstrable experience of technical, development, construction, and/or commercial activities in the power sector.
  • Demonstrable track record of developing productive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication aptitude.
  • Proven ability to work strategically.
  • A broad range of strategic, commercial, and technical skills, including an understanding of energy value chain economics, financial evaluation process, business case preparation, and interpreting complex data.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Functional competencies include building strategic partnerships, collaboration, accountability, business acumen, and prioritization.

Qualifications:      
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, economics, supply chain management, commercial or related degree or related professional qualification, required.
  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, or finance, required.
  • BTEC, HND/HNC or NVQ certifications (UK) or ASCM, ISM, or CIPS certifications (US), preferred.
  • 10 or more years of experience in wind power sector, required.
  • 10 or more years of experience in supply chain management, required.
  • Ability to travel 16 to 30% domestically and internationally, required.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
Anticipated base salary range:  $190,000 - $205,000      
      
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
