About the Role:

We are looking for Development Project Manager with primary responsibility for the development of a large-scale wind projects in Western Australia. This role will be pivotal in navigating the project through the renewable energy transition in Western Australia from pre-planning stages right through to financial close. Day to day activities will include project management, stakeholder management, assessment of project economics and commercial drivers, state planning activities through to permitting and project commercialization support to financial close.
This role will require frequent travel to the project site and for project related activities and occasionally to RES’ head office in Sydney if not already located there.


Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Use project management skills and tools to manage project team, tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Manage the Development Approval process, coordinating with consultants, local and state approval bodies, as well as any other necessary approvals.
  • Analyse and minimise project risks throughout each stage of the project up to financial close.
  • Work with the land manager to secure relevant land agreements, and work with the commercial team to establish the procurement strategy and route to market for the project.
  • Develop and manage relationships with landowners and the wider community.
  • Collaborative working across project teams including engineering, technical, grid, land, procurement, commercial, community, environment, legal and financial functions within the company.
  • Maintain project files and records to support due diligence processes.
  • Cooperate with international business units to draw on wider company expertise.
  • Be an exemplary role model to encourage the avoidance of risk-taking behaviours across the business and provide the personal commitment never to “risk it”.

Skills & Experience
  • Tertiary degree within relevant fields (including but not limited to engineering, law or science) or relevant work experience.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of the renewable industry or experience in large infrastructure project development.
  • Familiarity with Development approval planning pathways and requirements.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and initiative.
  • Resource Management, organisational skills and follow through on delivery.
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Community liaison and stakeholder management experience, including management and supervision of consultants.
  • Creation and management of project budgets and programmes.
  • Preferably knowledgeable of the renewable energy transition in Western Australia and the full life cycle development process of renewable energy projects.
  • Favourable experience developing large scale wind energy projects and understanding of commercial drivers that impact project economics.
