About the Role:

 
We are seeking a Lead Project Manager to directly manage the development activities for large offshore wind projects. This role will help to build and lead a high calibre team, focused on EIA, EPBC, planning, land security, and stakeholder management activities. This role will be accountable for ensuring the team produce high quality and successful applications, leading the permitting and consultation processes, land security, managing development risks on the project, managing the development program and budget and liaison with external and internal stakeholders. The role will be pivotal in developing projects from an early feasibility stage through development to commercial investment.



Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Plan and coordinate internal resources and external consultancy to deliver renewable energy projects.
  • Plan and coordinate internal resources and external consultancy.
  • Work closely and collaborate amongst project teams, including engineering, technical, grid, project controls, construction, commercial, and legal functions. Including collaboration with international business units and cooperating with clients and project partners.
  • Manage external consultants in preparing environmental impact assessments and supporting information for permits and approvals.
  • Responsible for managing project development risks at each stage of the project with a clear understanding of the permits and approvals required prior to construction commencement.
  • Manage external stakeholder relationships and communication through innovative community engagement strategies.
  • Formulate and manage project development plans and budgets, reporting progress to stakeholders.


Skills & Experience
 
  • Deep knowledge of wind project developments, Including EIA, EPBS, planning, land security, and stakeholder management
  • Understanding of state and federal renewable energy policies in Australia.
  • Robust understanding of market and commercial drivers for renewable projects, including emerging offshore sectors.
  • Proficiency in community liaison and stakeholder management best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, motivating, and managing successful collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, engaging effectively at a high level with key stakeholders.
  • Strong resource management, organisational skills, and follow-through on delivery.
  • Extensive project management experience, successfully delivering projects to NTP and beyond.
  • Experience in offshore projects preferred but not essential.
  • Proficient in managing KPIs, programmes, resources, and budgets for large-scale projects.
  • Skilled in creating and managing project team programmes and budgets.
  • Direct team leadership experience.
  • Ability to write and present progress reports, articulating risks, opportunities, and technical issues clearly.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience.
  • Degree or equivalent in environmental studies, economics, engineering, science, or business.
  • Project management qualifications desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Business-level English capability.
  • Willingness to undertake frequent travel within Australia.
  • Ensure team compliance with RES Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Serve as a role model for risk avoidance behaviours across the business, committing to a culture of safety.
