Sr. HSQE Manager - Environmental

Summary:
The Sr. HSQE Manager – Environmental is responsible for managing multiple projects and Environmental Supervisors/Environmental Points-of-Contact (ES/EPOC) to implement company environmental policies and procedures at the project level. This role primarily focuses on administering established policies and procedures and may impact procedural changes. Sr. HSQE Manager – Environmental manages and assists the Environmental Supervisors in the preparation and update of the Construction Environmental Plan (CEP), which includes the full environmental program and strategies.
This role will be hybrid requiring a minimum of 3 days in office.
Requirements:
- Supports multiple projects and environmental teams.
- Leads Project Environmental Meetings and ensures that all actions are completed.
- Represents or delegates responsibility for departmental representation in meetings both internally and externally with clients, regulatory agencies and/or other stakeholders.
- Assists development, engineering, procurement, estimating, and pre-construction teams on tasks and issues related to environmental contract requirements and permitting.
- Coordinates efforts to prepare site teams for permit compliance i.e., costs of compliance, permitting matrices, and designating responsible parties.
- Participates in project contract and budget reviews.
- Maintains the approach templates and outlines for environmental job books.
- Interfaces with client representatives to request development and pre-construction documents relevant to the environmental scope (wildlife reports, wetland reports, cultural reports).
- Oversees and audits project implementation of Construction Environmental Plan (CEP) and RES policies.
- Reviews site-level environmental reports and follow up on critical action items.
- Audits sites as required for compliance and issue audit reports.
- Conducts initial reviews of alleged compliance violations and escalates to executive leadership.
- Reports Environmental metrics and statistics for weekly and monthly reports.
- Ensures implementation, efficacy, and continual improvement of the RES Environmental Management System (EMS) and trains new ES/EPOC on the EMS.
- Provides training to site teams on both company-wide and project-specific environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Evaluates, modifies, or creates RES Environmental policies and procedures.
- Manages the application and termination of all Environmental Permits.
- Operates Company aligned vehicle for site visits and business trips.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Tracks and interprets laws or regulations impacting the business and offers suggestions to functional managers seeking to ensure compliance.
- Attends kick off meetings and facilitates hand-off from development to construction.
Safety:

- Leads and supports the site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing system in place.

Qualifications:
- Highschool/ GED required.
- Associate’s degree in sciences, Construction Management, or Engineering or 5 years of proven construction or regulatory experience performing audits or inspections to ensure permit compliance on construction projects required.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Qualified Inspector/Preparer of SWPPPs Certification preferred.
- Hazwoper 40 or equivalent Certification preferred.
- 3+ years of construction or regulatory experience performing audits or inspections to ensure permit compliance on construction projects required.
- 2+ years of Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Broad and advanced knowledge of Environmental/HSQE concepts and principles, including:
- Stormwater knowledge
- Environmental concepts
- Sustainability concepts
- Hazardous chemical storage and disposal
- Must be able to work professionally with and build strong business relationships with clients, vendors, employees, state/governmental agencies, and management.
- Maintaining records and databases.
- Broad understanding of Safety requirements and experience with Safety Training.
- Advanced Knowledge:
- Technical and policy writing.
- Verbal Communication skills including listening, presentations/public speaking and ability to convey issues effectively to move toward resolution.
- Strong Sub-contractor and vendor management experience.
- Interpretation of construction plans.
- General construction.
- Collaborative problem solving to meet deadlines.
- Intermediate experience with Procore and Velocity EHS.
- Functional competencies include managing vision & purpose, building strategic partnerships, responsibility/stewardship, ethics & integrity, and communication.
- Domestic and International travel 31-50% required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
Anticipated base salary range: $128,000 - $159,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
