The Position

This role will have frequent exposure to UK&I Business Unit Managers as well as the UK&I support services and Group Finance teams. 

  

  • Ownership of RES Ltd and RES company subsidiary balance sheets – completion of balance sheet reconciliations each month for RES Ltd and reviewing smaller RES UK&I subsidiary balance sheets
  • Ownership of month end journals and processes in relation to intercompany loans and interest charges
  • Preparation of monthly controls dashboard
  • Preparation of financial statements for RES UK&I subsidiaries
  • Preparation of all VAT returns for UK and Irish companies, and ensuring compliance with Irish RCT. Review of smaller entity VAT returns
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Confidently and independently respond to queries relating to month end and full year results to Group Finance, the UK Business Unit Managers and to the auditors during year end audit
  • Support with ad hoc tasks e.g. 3rd party information requests

 

Organisational Context

Reporting to the Head of Finance UK&I Development & Construction, the role is responsible for taking ownership of core deliverables around balance sheet reporting and supporting the team in providing insight and support to stakeholders. There will also be opportunity to work on projects which focus on simplifying current processes and the implementation of new IT technology. 

 

 

 

Knowledge

Skills

  • Working knowledge of accounting under IFRS and FRS 102 
  • Working knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Good knowledge of financial systems 
  • Excellent understanding of UK VAT, including experience with MTD and Partial Exemption 
  • Experience with Irish VAT and RCT would be an advantage 

 

 

  • Well organised with good time management skills and ability to deliver on time 
  • Tenacity and attention to detail in order to deliver high quality financial information 
  • Work autonomously and be proactive to meet routine internal reporting deadlines 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT)
