Summary: 
The Contracts Associate works within the Construction Transactions Team, which is part of the larger Pre-Construction Group, whose responsibility is to bring in new construction business in the Wind, Solar and Energy Storage fields that RES participates in.  The team primarily works on Construction Agreements and key Supply and O&M Agreements (Wind Turbine, Solar and Energy Storage), including all accompanying exhibits and such other ancillary documentation/contracts as required to support the new business. The Contracts Associate will be primarily focused on facilitating the cross-functional review and transmittal to/from client of all contract exhibits in accordance with RES policies and procedures.
 
Requirements:   
  • Works with team to close new construction contracts, with high focus on exhibits and ancillary documentation, including ability to write scopes of work, as required.
  • Coordinates the exhibit process under the guidance of more senior Transactions Team member(s) which involves interaction with multiple internal organizations, including construction, engineering, development, legal, estimating, etc.  and often involves interaction, coordination and negotiation with customers.
  • Assists team to manage the entire contract closure process – kickoff meetings, tracking progress on exhibits, coordinating follow on meetings, document control etc.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

  • Focuses on other job-related duties/functions requested by the supervisor as needed, including obtaining/maintaining contractor licensing or other items related to this job function.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, technical, or business-related field preferred.
  • 1 or more years of construction, engineering, or other technical or business experience or RES internship program required.
  • Ability to travel domestically 5 to 15% required.
  • Strong organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills;
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills, including addressing complex technical, commercial and legal issues.
  • Basic understanding of construction contract terms, with ability to integrate with exhibits while recognizing discrepancies in requirements between individual contract exhibits and prime agreement.
  • Intermediate MS Office Suites skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Office.) including ability to prepare and utilize charts, graphs, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, SUMIF, filtering information to provide quality data, and managing large amounts of data.
  • Strong reading comprehension skills and ability to interpret contract language quickly and communicate its meaning and potential consequence verbally and in writing to Transactions Team members and stakeholders of other internal organizations.
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders that need to review specific contract exhibits.
  • Ability to understand the interplay between contract exhibits and how a change to one contract exhibits may impact the required revisions in other contract exhibits.

Anticipated base salary range:  $62,000 - $82,000
 
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
