Summary: 

Responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at the project site.

 

Requirements:      

  • Performs tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
  • Performs overhead and underground line construction as directed by the job supervisor or
  • Foreman.
  • Loads, unloads, lifts, and moves materials.
  • Works on multiple job sites installing underground utilities, road, and concrete work.
  • Operates a variety of mechanical and manual servicing equipment safely.
  • Works with various power and hand tools.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presents, supports, and leads by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

 

Safety:

  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
  • Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. 
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

 

Qualifications:   

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Less than 1 year working in a construction environment preferred.
  • Thorough attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to twist, bend, pull, push, reach, kneel, and stoop regularly.
  • Ability to work/walk on different types of terrain for entire shift.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions accurately.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Anticipated base salary range:  $19.00 - 24.00

 

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Per Diem of $100.00 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.

Occasionally: Pinching and Sitting are required.

Frequently: Carrying (31-50lbs), Climbing, Crouching, Grasping, Gripping, Handling, Kneeling, Pulling (31-50lbs), Pushing (31-50lbs), Lifting (31-50lbs), Reaching, Repetitive Motion, Standing, Walking, Stooping are required.

Constantly: Reading, Hearing, and Visionare required.

 

Frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, humidity, wet, noise, hazards, and vibration in the working environment
