The company’s first product in the clinic is a novel multiclonal T cell therapy consisting of T cells derived from the peripheral blood, activated against a curated set of antigens, and armed with a proprietary cytokine. Repertoire is in clinical-stage immuno-oncology development today, targeting metastatic solid tumors. In the field of autoimmunity, Repertoire is using its proprietary platform to discover novel epitopes and TCRs from patients with type 1 diabetes. The company is also using its DECODE platform to discover infectious disease antigens and responding T cell clones.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I / II to work in the Protein Engineering and Molecular Sciences team, which is responsible for producing antibody-tethered cytokines to enable the development of effective therapies for immune-related disorders, including autoimmune diseases and cancer. The incumbent will work at the bench to perform all techniques associated with protein purification and characterization toward understanding our antibody-tethered candidate molecules.  This includes Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) polishing of proteins, QC documentation of purified molecules, and in vitro binding and potency analyses. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and presenting data to their supervisor and to the team in a timely manner. As part of a multi-disciplinary discovery and development team, the candidate will work closely with the Pharmacology and Preclinical development team to support the ongoing evolution of our BRIDGE cytokine-tethering technology.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cell culture and protein production, and the capability and desire to learn and apply new experimental methodologies. The candidate will be motivated to drive the generation of experimental data at the bench, and will have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills that will enable them to integrate with our highly cross-functional teams. Drive to execute, experimental rigor and scientific curiosity are key! The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities is a must.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to design and execute experimental projects under the supervision of direct manager and scientific project leads.
  • Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification techniques
  • Demonstrated success with molecular biology techniques (e.g. DNA isolation and purification from yeast and/or coli, PCR, DNA transformation of yeast and/or E. coli)
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and FACS
  • Experience with cell-based assays is desirable
  • Knowledge of oncology or immunology is beneficial
  • Strong organizational and data analysis skills are required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for developing creative solutions and for maintaining timelines
  • Maintain and implement good laboratory practices, including accurate laboratory notebook (ELN) systems, instrument and reagent validation, and personnel safety precautions
  • Expertise with GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are a must
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to execute experimental plans and deliver results is also necessary

 

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology or a similar field.
  • 0-2 years of Academic or biotech/pharma laboratory experience.
  • Demonstrated success in molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and common protein expression and purification techniques.
  • Experience with general in vitro cell culture/immunology techniques and culture of primary cells or cell lines
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and solve critical issues related to experimental protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to details.
  • Proven track record of being personable, energetic, accountable, and an effective communicator.
  • Must work well independently as well as an integral part of the team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
  • Motivated by driving the generation of experimental data at the bench.
