Repertoire Immune Medicines is a clinical-stage biotechnology company working to unlock and direct the remarkable power of the human immune system to prevent or treat cancer, as well as autoimmune and infectious disease. From its sites in Cambridge, Mass., and Zurich, Switzerland, Repertoire’s team of more than 120 is creating a new category of immune medicines enabled from its DECODE discovery platform. The company’s first product in the clinic is a novel multiclonal T cell therapy consisting of T cells derived from the peripheral blood, activated against a curated set of antigens and armed with a proprietary cytokine. Repertoire is in clinical-stage immuno-oncology development today, targeting metastatic solid tumors. In the field of autoimmunity, Repertoire is using its proprietary platform to discover novel epitopes and TCRs from patients with type 1 diabetes. The company is also using its DECODE platform to discover infectious disease antigens and responding T cell clones.

Role Overview

The Senior Director of Corporate Communications will provide leadership, development, and execution of the external and internal communications strategy for Repertoire Immune Medicines. S/he will be responsible for media and public relations management, including social media, scientific communications, corporate social responsibility and brand and issues management, in coordination with Repertoire’s Executive Committee.  This role reports to the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and will also work closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to support transparent and informative internal communication to employees. 

The ideal candidate will have proven, hands-on experience in developing corporate communications strategy and content in a clinical-stage biotechnology company, supporting an executive team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, in conjunction with the Chief Legal & Administrative Officer, compelling communication strategies supporting relevant outreach and messaging on RIM’s research, innovation, and corporate successes. Coordination with the Company’s Executive Committee to ensure cross functional input will be required.
  • Help define public relations and internal communications strategies for the organization that achieve business objectives and convey RIM’s mission and research platforms and programs.
  • Define and manage the strategy, planning, and implementation of a robust social media presence.
  • Lead the coordination of the Company’s Scientific Communications Committee to ensure review and alignment on all external scientific presentations, and implement a plan for the company’s presence in relevant scientific forums and congresses.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization to ensure alignment and visibility of communications initiatives across functions.
  • Anticipate, draft and manage the review process for all news announcements and internal/external communications, managing consistency of messages and disclosure; manages communication governance (review and approval) process that ensures message buy-in from related parties and the Executive
  • Manage efforts to update and refresh corporate messaging; regularly revisit and, as necessary, refine key messages, corporate presentations, Q&A materials to ensure accuracy and reflect corporate messaging.
  • Take the lead on event preparations for relevant reporter engagements, executive presentations, stakeholder events and related activities.
  • Lead coordination of media interactions, ensuring spokespeople are carefully prepared and equipped with appropriate messaging and understanding of disclosure strategy.
  • Partner with Human Resources to build an employee communications strategy and employee forums to support employee engagement.

 

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has a strong grounding in scientific writing; established relationships with traditional and social media outlets; internal communications experience; an understanding of business strategies/objectives and executive priorities; the ability to influence others and drive alignment across diverse cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will also possess a self-starting, entrepreneurial spirit and exhibit strong problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field and at least 10 years of experience in public, media relations and communications.
  • Superior writing skills, along with strong presentation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of media, reporting methods and public relations strategies / tactics in a pharma, healthcare, or scientific environments.
  • Experience working with high performing teams and demonstrated ability to collaborate, facilitate, influence, and organize across multiple groups and levels of an organization.
  • Strong planning, organizational, time and project management skills to prioritize and complete multiple assignments and coordinate workflow
