Director/Sr. Director of Computational Analytics

Repertoire Immune Medicines is seeking a highly experienced leader with deep expertise in computational biology.  The new Director/Sr. Director of Computational Analytics will be responsible for informing and executing a strategy for computational analysis and modeling to serve various functions across the R&D organization, including Platform Discovery and Translational Research. As leader of the Computational Analytics group, this position will oversee the development of tools to analyze large, single-cell multi-omics datasets, computational models to predict features of peptide-MHC affinity and TCR-pMHC reactivity, and methods to interrogate high-dimensional clinical data for exploratory purposes.

Repertoire has recently expanded the scope of its computational efforts and will be further integrating computational biology into all facets of the DECODE and DEPLOY platforms. Given this expanding scope, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to further build out a team to serve the needs of the organization. The Computational Analytics group will work side-by-side with a Computational Engineering group, interfacing directly with our Platform Discovery, Translational Medicine, and Clinical teams to scope, build, and implement computational solutions. The ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment will be critical to success.



  • Provide strategic and technical leadership in computational biology, expanding and leading a team of ~6 scientists to scope, build, and deploy analytical tools.
  • Contribute methods, models, and visualization tools for Platform Discovery and Translational Research.
  • Lead the development and deployment of computational methods for characterizing TCR-pMHC interactions, quantifying biomarker expression, identifying features of cell phenotype, monitoring clonotype distribution, and applying population genetics to experimental design.
  • Build and execute a strategy for TCR repertoire analysis and characterization.
  • Apply or develop new tools or data-mining techniques for integrative analysis and visualization of large data sets.
  • Ensure proper documentation of code, workflows, reports, and analyses of Computational Analytics team.
  • Manage and execute multiple projects in parallel, prioritizing to meet short timelines while maintaining scientific rigor.
  • Provide transparency and regular communication on project status, setbacks, and modification of strategy.
  • Seek out external resource and expertise when required.
  • Communicate to a broad audience with a range of technical, analytical, and biological expertise and present strategic roadmap on a regular basis.



Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science with 10+ yrs experience in biotech/pharma industry.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of 5 or more full-time employees.
  • Extensive experience analyzing single cell genomics data.
  • Experience in developing bioinformatics workflows for NGS-based assays.
  • Strong grounding in biology or medicine with statistical and quantitative data analysis skills.
  • Experience managing budget and FTE resourcing.
  • Technical proficiency in Python and R.
  • Proven ability to develop or apply new tools for the integrative analysis and visualization of multi-dimensional datasets, including implementing 3rd party solutions and managing external contractors.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and presentation communication skills; adept at communicating a clear vision down, up, and across, effectively aligning resources and motivating teams to achieve goals.
  • Proven ability to successfully influence across functions.
  • Ability to motivate team to meet critical timelines.
  • Experience in discovery research or translational medicine.
  • Experience working with clinical data collected in Ph1 and Ph2 studies and integration with high dimensional data in pre-clinical discovery efforts.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing imaging data (both histological as well as clinical).
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with structural simulations.
  • Experience in data analysis using cloud computing infrastructure.
  • High level of comfort with Quality Management Systems and utilization of LIMS.
  • Ability to showcase technologies with external partners to support business development activities.
  • Broad knowledge of intellectual property landscape with ability to craft concepts for patent filing.
  • Strong scientific publication record with proven high levels of performance.
