Description

Company Overview

Repertoire Immune Medicines is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to creating treatments for diseases based on the power of the human T cell repertoire to eliminate cancer cells, target pathogens, and regulate immune function.

Repertoire’s strategy lies in understanding the immune synapse – the interaction between specific T cells and the corresponding antigen-presenting cells that dictate T cell activity.  The company’s proprietary DECODE™ technology platform, developed by Repertoire scientists, provides a comprehensive understanding of the full repertoire of interactions between T cell receptors and their antigen targets.  We believe the ability to decode these interactions represents one of the greatest opportunities for innovation in medical science.

Repertoire’s team operates from sites in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Zurich, Switzerland and uses its DECODE technology to rationally design treatments for cancers, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate scientist who loves working with proteins to uncover their mysteries.  The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with protein production and characterization as well as the capability and desire to learn and apply new experimental methodologies.  The incumbent will work at the bench to express, purify, and QC proteins using biochemical methods such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western, and analytical methods such as FPLC and HPLC.  This work requires incumbents to be on-site in Cambridge, MA, 4 to 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Express recombinant proteins from bacterial cultures.
  • Execute large-scale protein purifications using Immobilized metal affinity, ion-exchange, and size exclusion chromatography.
  • Characterize recombinant proteins using SDS-PAGE, WB, protein quantitation, ELISA, and other biochemical/biophysical assays to determine protein purity and function.
  • Capture primary data and document work as required in Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) maintaining up to date records.
  • Present data routinely to the Protein Sciences group and other multidisciplinary groups.

Qualifications/Experience

  • B.S./M.S. in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, or a similar field.
  • 0-2+ years of academic or biotech/pharma laboratory experience.
  • Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification.
  • Experience with FPLC systems and with affinity, IEX and SEC, protein purification methods is desirable.
  • Experience with molecular cloning and generation and verification of vectors for protein expression will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills along with excellent attention to details.
  • Enjoys a fast-paced and quickly changing environment; at times, requiring a change in work priorities and goals.

Repertoire is committed towards social responsibility and developing an inclusive culture.  Much as the power of the immune system lies in the diversity of T and B cells, we believe that our work requires the creativity and ingenuity of a diverse workforce, and we are committed to pursuing that in all facets of the work experience at Repertoire.  We will continue to educate ourselves about the inequities and barriers present in our society and act as a company where we can make a difference.

Repertoire is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
