Team Lead, Immune Synapse Validation Platform

Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Scientist to join us in discovery of disease relevant immune synapses. The candidate will lead a team of junior scientist and will be responsible for development, standardization, automatization and deployment of techniques for prioritization of therapeutically-relevant targets. Data generated by the group will drive the development of therapies to make a meaningful difference for patients suffering from cancer or autoimmune diseases.

This position will report to Director, Immunology and will be part of a matrixed team which includes colleagues from Immunology, Platform technologies, Computational biology, and Protein engineering teams.

Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recombinant TCR team. The candidate will be responsible for program related, scientific and operational objectives.
  • Establish, optimize and qualify assays for confirmation and prioritization of target antigens and TCRs
  • Streamline and automate approaches
  • Work closely with program teams, including Autoimmunity and Oncology Team
  • Work with and guide more junior researchers to design disease- and program-relevant experiments and strategies
  • Provide scientific, project and laboratory leadership to junior scientific staff
  • Analyze, summarize and communicate data to the leadership and project teams
  • Collaborate closely with Platform Technology and Computational Biology

teams for smooth and swift execution of discovery and translational medicine programs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology or similar field with minimum of 5 years working experience in academia or industry.
  • In depth knowledge of TCR and recombinant TCR systems, including viral and non-viral transfers
  • In depth knowledge of molecular biology, design of transgene constructs, cloning and expression of the transgene in primary human cells and in cell lines
  • Experience with TCR sequencing
  • Working knowledge of T cell immunology, including laboratory techniques related to assessment of T cell function and specificity
  • Experience with multi-color flow cytometry for T cell characterization. Experience with T cell-based assays such as MHC/peptide tetramer, ELISpot, Luminex, and cytotoxicity
  • Experience with automatization is a strong plus
  • Highly adaptable and responsive to evolving strategic, technical and business opportunities
  • Excellent attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of being personable, energetic, accountable, and an effective communicator
  • Must work well independently as well as an integral part of the team
