Company Overview

Repertoire Immune Medicines is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company working to unlock and direct the remarkable power of the human immune system to prevent or treat cancer, as well as autoimmune and infectious disease.  The company is founded on the belief that the repertoire of T cell receptor (TCR)-antigen codes that drive health and disease represents one of the greatest opportunities for innovation in medical science.  Repertoire scientists created and developed the DECODE suite of technologies, which allow in-depth characterization of TCR-antigen pairs, and the ability to rationally design and develop novel targeted immune medicines.

From its sites in Cambridge, Mass., and Zurich, Switzerland, Repertoire’s team of more than 80 is creating a new category of immune medicines enabled from its DECODE discovery platform.  Repertoire is currently using its proprietary platform to discover novel epitopes and TCRs from patients with autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis as well as to enable development of immune oncology based therapeutics to treat solid tumors.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Immunologist to join the Applied Immunology Team.  The successful candidate will lead in vivo pharmacology efforts through design, oversight, and reporting of in vivo studies as well as hands-on design and execution of in vitro and ex vivo experiments to support preclinical pharmacology data packages.  The ideal candidate is a collaborative research scientist with a record of managing a small cross-functional team, executing preclinical studies to support optimization, validation, and nomination of drug candidates and a drive to develop transformational immune medicines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee in vivo pharmacology projects to support the development of immune oncology and autoimmune drug candidates including study design, model selection, and data and tissue collection.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report data from in vivo studies, including preparation of study reports for internal and regulatory documents as well as presentation to matrixed R&D teams and scientific leadership.
  • Develop and manage collaborative relationships with CROs to ensure high-quality preclinical pharmacology data packages.
  • Design, direct, and execute in vitro and ex vivo studies to support comprehensive preclinical pharmacology data packages.
  • Serve as in vivo pharmacology expert on immune medicine development project teams comprising Discovery and Applied Immunology, and Protein Engineering & Molecular Sciences to enable exploration of efficacy, safety, and MOA of therapeutic leads as well as optimization, validation, and nomination of drug candidates.
  • Demonstrate spirit of continuous learning and curiosity, as well as commitment to scientific rigor and collaboration.
  • Leverage strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Pharmacology, or related field and with approximately 6 (Senior Scientist) to 8+ (Principal Scientist) years of experience in industry or academia.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with mouse models of autoimmunity and/or cancer is required, preferably with a focus on autoimmune and/or immune oncology drug development.
  • Demonstrated success leading preclinical pharmacology projects; experience with preclinical regulatory requirements, writing IND documentation, and leading collaborations with CROs preferred for Principal Scientist.
  • Deep expertise in development and execution of immunoassays, including complex flow cytometric analyses, T cell function assays, and assays that assess gene expression.
  • Expertise mentoring and managing a cross-functional team is required. Experience leading end-to-end projects is preferred for Principal Scientist.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Demonstrated agility and interest to work in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving field, leveraging cross-functional expertise.

Repertoire is committed towards social responsibility and developing an inclusive culture.  Much as the power of the immune system lies in the diversity of T and B cells, we believe that our work requires the creativity and ingenuity of a diverse workforce, and we are committed to pursuing that in all facets of the work experience at Repertoire.  We will continue to educate ourselves about the inequities and barriers present in our society and act as a company where we can make a difference.
