From its sites in Cambridge, Mass., and Zurich, Switzerland, Repertoire’s team of more than 120 is creating a new category of immune medicines enabled from its DECODE discovery platform.  The company’s first product in the clinic is a novel multiclonal T cell therapy consisting of T cells derived from the peripheral blood, activated against a curated set of antigens, and armed with a proprietary cytokine.  Repertoire is in clinical-stage immuno-oncology development today, targeting metastatic solid tumors.  In the field of autoimmunity, Repertoire is currently using its proprietary platform to discover novel epitopes and TCRs from patients with type 1 diabetes.  The company is also using its DECODE platform to discover infectious disease antigens and responding T cell clones.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join us in advancing our understanding of disease relevant immune synapses.  The successful candidate will support our TCR team and be responsible for development, standardization, automatization, and deployment of techniques for prioritization of therapeutically-relevant T cell receptors (TCRs).  Data generated by the group will drive the development of therapies to make a meaningful difference for patients suffering from cancer or autoimmune diseases.

Primary responsibilities include participation in experimental design and execution, independent data analysis and documentation, and verbal and written communication of results to the team.  A self-starting attitude and the ability to focus, attention to detail, and execute in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment is a must.  There is significant opportunity for career growth and continuous learning in the highly collaborative Repertoire work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expression and validation of TCRs in reporter cell lines and primary human T cells.
  • Analyze, document, summarize, and communicate data to project teams.
  • Contribute ideas for novel assays, method improvements, new instrumentation, automation, and data analysis approaches.
  • Contribute to method optimization and troubleshooting strategies in collaboration with Repertoire teams and third-party laboratories.
  • Work closely with program teams dedicated to autoimmunity and oncology projects as well as platform technology and computational biology.
  • Support general lab operations with reagent preparation, instrument maintenance, and adherence to lab safety procedures.


  • B.S. in a relevant scientific discipline (Bioengineering, Cell Biology/Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) with minimum of 1 year of academic or industry experience.
  • Experience with general in vitro cell culture and manipulation of cell lines.
  • Experience with flow cytometry and reporter cell assays.
  • Experience with viral and non-viral gene delivery into cell lines or primary human T cells is highly desired.
  • In depth knowledge of molecular biology, design of transgene constructs, cloning, and expression of TCRs a strong plus.
  • Experience with high throughput screening automation technologies a strong plus.
  • Understanding of safe lab practices, BSL requirements, and documentation using ELN.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and ability to master new scientific disciplines and troubleshoot both technical and scientific problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills are essential in our ultra-collaborative work environment.
