Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves machining precision metal components used in asphalt production and material-handling equipment. The ideal candidate has experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment and can read blueprints, hold tight tolerances, and work independently.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drills, and other various fabrication equipment
- Machine steel and alloy components to print specifications
- Manufacture custom and replacement parts for asphalt plant equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and tolerances
- Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
- Perform basic machine maintenance and tooling changes
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjustment as needed
- Work closely with welders, fitters, and engineering staff
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
- Perform any other duties as assigned from Leadership
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (trade school preferred)
- 3+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills
- Experience machining carbon steel and stainless steel
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Manual machining experience
- Large or heavy-part machining
- Experience in heavy equipment, asphalt, or industrial manufacturing
Physical Requirements
- Routinely lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment
