Material Handler
Under general supervision from the Material Handler Supervisor, performs a variety of duties in receiving, issuing, handling, and accounting for inventory stock in the inventory storage areas and yard. Emphasis is on pulling parts and staging for in-house jobs, computer related transactions, and communication of exceptions to other departments.
Inventory Control Responsibilities:
- Pulling, Staging, and issuing of parts to jobs for assembly departments
- Prioritize job parts based on Productions schedule and work center utilization.
- Maintain Exceptions Board to communicate shortages.
- Intercept inbound shipments from internal and external suppliers to satisfy job shortages.
- Utilize storage space and maintain bin locations
- Assist in determining size and locations for parts being bought or built in EBQ’s
- Assist in maintaining labeling system for proper identification
- Reviewing and Maintaining SYSPRO data
- Upon discovery of variances, taking proper action to correct on hand inventory quantities through:
- Inventory Transfers
- Back Flushing
- Job manipulation
- Inventory adjustments
- Report BOM errors or other discrepancies to direct supervisor, Ops Manager or Engineering personnel
- Perform Stock Takes as requested
- Review with Supervisor and or Ops Manager needed changes in EBQ’s and safety stock levels.
- Upon discovery of variances, taking proper action to correct on hand inventory quantities through:
- Attend meetings
- Daily Production Meeting.
- Perform light Sub assembly as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Any other activities as deemed necessary by management to advance the goals of the company.
