The Area Manager for Ready Mix Operations will oversee the production, distribution, and delivery of ready-mix concrete in the Eastern Sierras region. This role involves managing plant operations, ensuring quality control, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence. The Area Manager will optimize production processes, maintain safety standards, and foster strong relationships with customers, employees, and stakeholders. Additionally, the Area Manager will oversee some management, quality control, and delivery of aggregates to ensure the appropriate sourcing, processing, and utilization of materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of ready-mix plants in the Eastern Sierras region, ensuring efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality ready-mix concrete, including managing aggregate operations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of plant managers, drivers, and other staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a motivated and skilled workforce.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to produce consistent, high-quality concrete that meets industry standards and customer specifications, focusing on the quality of the aggregates.
- Customer Relations: Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to understand and meet customer demands, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Safety Compliance: Develop and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, complying with all relevant regulations and the industry's best practices.
- Process Optimization: Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity, including optimizing aggregate usage.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, ensuring cost-effective operations and achieving financial targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, representing the company professionally and positively.
- Project Management: Lead and oversee special projects related to plant upgrades, new technology implementation, and process improvements, ensuring successful completion within budget and timeline.
- Aggregate Oversight: Manage the sourcing, processing, and quality control of aggregates used in concrete production, ensuring materials meet required specifications and are utilized efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
